I could not say anything bad about the hotel if I wanted to. The staff, the room, the service the food, the grounds were all awesome. Cant wait to get back.

Overall the hotel was good, the service a bit slow and the credits that give you is not that useful.

My wife liked the slippers, ...Read more The hotel is pretty nice, the rooms are the best part of the stay, but aside from that there are so many glaring issues I do not know where to start. The rooms were nice with a good assortment of drinks and amenities. My wife liked the slippers, robes and aroma therapy scent and pillows. The air conditioning could have been better, the room was comfortable but always a little warm for our taste. The bed was comfortable. The interent worked well. The pools are undersized for the amount of guests, finding a chair was not a problem, but the pool water was visibly cloudy and dirty looking, the one pool by building 2 smelled like a wet mop. I think the problem is that there are only a few general public pools. One is reserved for "Members" which apparently hotel guests are not, a slew of them are kids pools, and bunch of topless pools. That only leaves a few pools for the majority of the guests which I am sure overloads their filtration system. The food was average for an all inclusive resort, the service was terrible, although when someone was attending to you they were friendly. Every meal the server would take your order and drink order bring your drink about the time your meal came out or when you were half way done eating and never refill your drink unless you flagged them down and requested a refill, they also never check to see how your meal was. It was fairly typical all inclusive type service, not what I expected going to a resort priced like this. We ate at the main buffet once and it was extremely loud. Resort credit this may have been one of my biggest gripes, so many issues with it that I was frustrated by it the entire time I was there. First day I check in and went to see if we can book a tour with our credit, we are staying four nights. During our stay they had no availability until a week later to use your resort credit on. The exception was a horse back ride which they could accomodate one of us on, not my wife and I. The other tour we could do was a bike ride on a motorized standup tricycle around the resort. My wife was able to get her hair done at the spa for a wedding which used $90 of the allowable $150 spa resort credit. However the lady who did my wife's hair spoke no english and did not do her hair how my wife would have liked and my wife wound up doing it again back at the room. They advertise that you can use some of your credit for match play at the casino, however the Hard Rock no longer honors that, even though it was part of the deal when we booked. They have also started charging a 16% "TAX" on resort credits used that must be paid in cash or anything purchased at their "Resort Credit Store." First off everything is wat overpriced so after you pay your tax you are essentially paying what you should be paying for the item. My wife like Beringer White Zinfandel, the Hard Rocks list price is $70, for a $7 bottle of wine, tax on that is $11.20. Which they tried to charge us even though we booked before the tax went into effect. They did that to many of the guests in the wedding party I can only assume hoping people would just pay. Gifts in the store are typical island type wares you would buy from a straw market however they are extremely over priced and you will pay street prices after the tax is applied. The gift shops around the resort are also extremely overpriced one example is a spray bottle of sunscreen is between $35-50 so make sure you pack plenty. The beach is very nice, plenty of chairs and palapalas. The water was rough during our stay which I do not mind but it was strong for kids or elderly, it was not calm water. The grounds are well maintained and the lobby is really nice. The hotel is very big so be prepared to take their trolley service or walk a lot. There are also large desolate concrete areas between some buildings I assume they are used for events but they are fairly unattractive. The hotel also charges guests to go into the night club "Orro." There is a very high cover charge and you have to pay for drinks inside the club. I can go on but I think I have provided enough info to prevent people from walking into this blind. It is a nice resort, but not of the caliber or level of service I expected for an all inclusive in this price range. The resort credit was a hinderance and the entire experience could be improved by getting rid of it all together. Close
