The rooms are bare except for linen-less beds and a multitude of graffitti left by previous tenants scribling "do not stay here!" Obviously, this would be more helpful on the outside walls so one would know not to enter!
Every tenant is issued a key to their room and a padlock to keep it doubly secure.
The incessent buzz of Khao San Road and the lack of windows or air conditioning makes sleeping impossible but there is a chemist below that sells powerful sleeping tablets!
The showers are clean, however, and come with hot water, which is a welcome blessing.
