Last minute vacation

Going to Cayucus is always the best time. The beaches are beautiful and the food is great. Plus a short drive in any direction will land you in a new beach town, be it the artsy town of cambria or the high school hang-out known as Pismo Beach.

Quick Tips:

I wouldn''t suggest a hotel or motel. Your best option in Cayucus is to rent a condo or house. There are tons to choose from and may that you can find via the internet. We found one and three weeks later we were staying. (Note: it was the off-season, so during the high times like summer, you may need to plan further ahead.) We went in the very beginning of June, so we got to enjoy the great weather without the crowds.

Best Way To Get Around:

In Cayucus, depending on where you stay, there is a short strip where most of your basic needs can be met, ie. the beach, restraunts, etc. But if you want to get adventurous and explore, you''ll need a car to find Pismo Beach, Cambria, and all the other little nooks and crannies waiting to be found on California''s central coast.

We rented quads. It's the perfect activity for the adventurous. We later discovered that it was quite the work out because we woke up with incredibly sore muscles.

It's great fun to speed over the dunes. It can be a family event too and we saw children as young as seven on quads designed specially for their smaller size.

Any questions we had regarding the quads were answered during our inital orientation. Then they let us loose. It was one of the highlights of our trip. There are several companies that rent quads and you can find them on the internet.
