There are many towns in Sicily which should be avoided by tourists, and Francancafonte is but one of many. I, unfortunately do not have the luxury of avoiding this earthly version of Purgatory as my mother in law lives there. Even the family members who were born there hate returning home, doing so only to visit their mother.
