Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

Compared to other countries public transport is reliable. Compared to German standards, public transport in Frankfurt is both expensive and chronically late.

Frankfurt Visitor passes (from tourist office in the Train station) are a good deal!

Henninger TurmBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant

Henninger Turm – Frankfurt from Above
Frankfurt is known for its skyscrapers and for its enormous airport (Europe's no. 2). Height is a dominating factor in this city! One way to experience this is to have dinner or lunch or just a drink in the restaurant in the Henninger Turm.

The Henninger tower is an operated brewery silo by the Henninger brewery. It is actually the tallest brewery silo in the world! 120 meters high there is a revolving restaurant, which is a fun experience. It makes three turns per hour so you get to see all of Frankfurt from above!

Service is friendly and the food is traditional Frankfurt style. One dish which you should try: "Handkäs mit Musik", which literally means "handy cheese with music"

You get a special strong German cheese covered with a sauce and onions. Definitely a dish you won’t get anywhere else.

End your visit to this place by leaving the restaurant and heading up one more story. Here you can enter the lookout platform enjoying the beautiful view along with fresh air. A favourable way of ending a nice dinner.

El PacificoBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant

El Pacifico is in the eyes of many the best Mexican restaurant in Frankfurt. A friend of mine used to live in Mexico and she always dines here for Mexican food. She says it is like the real thing!

The restaurant offers a combination menu where you can combine burritos, tortillas etc. in one dish. It's an excellent introduction to Mexican food. Try the Quesadillas!

Staff is friendly and the athmosphere is quite cozy.

Attraction

Äbbelwoi Express – untraditional city tour

Maybe you have been on city tours in the famous red busses of London or you have enjoyed the boat tours in beautiful Copenhagen. The traditional city tour in Frankfurt is slightly different, and quite memorable.

The Äbbelwoi Express offers you a two hour tram ride through all of the city’s central areas. And while you cross the River Main a few times and pass the huge skyline, you can enjoy one of the culinary specialties of Frankfurt: the Äbbelwoi (Wine made of apples).

Bring your own music and the party can begin. Although I took this trip together with a larger groups of friends I think that this would be a nice way to meet Frankfurt "natives" – having some apple wine always helps.

Äbbelwoi Express
Frankfurt, Germany

This is an interesting museum because it shows the art in the objects surrounding us. The exhibition, for example, shows some 50 chairs side by side -all in different designs.

A great place if you are interested in the more practical side of art.

When you are here in summer, the Cafe in the garden is a good place to relax and to have some delicious light food.
