Vienna: Stephansdom, the Ringstrasse, the Schonbrunn, The Belvedere, the public transport system, and a walk around the Innere Stadt.

Salzburg: everything you can feast your eyes on in the alt stadt and the walk up to the Hohensalzburg if the fernuclar isnt working. Exhausting but exhilerating.

Quick Tips:

Learn some basic customs because it will help enormously in getting assistance, or in shops.

Best Way To Get Around:

Getting around Vienna was a breeze; the transport system there is unbelievably efficient and everything interconnects. I don't think I had to wait any more than 2 minutes for either a U-Bahn or bus. It cost EUR 9,90 for a four day pass that allows commuters to ride each form of transport. Walking around Salzburg is a must!!!

This is one of the most beautiful and pleasant B&Bs I've stayed in. Run by a wonderful Innkeeper, the Birchwood Inn is situated in the sleepy town of Lenox, MA, USA. Our hosts welcomed us with afternoon tea, a tour of the facilities (a 1770s home) and substantial information about the facilities in the area. We were also introduced to a very friendly golden retriever who behaved herself very well.

The room we stayed in included a canopied bed, fireplace and comfortable sofas, plus an ensuite with both shower and tub. A very romantic place to stay, particularly in winter when you can enjoy the full benefit of an open fire whilst it snows outside.

In the morning you are greeted with a three course breakfast, served by the innkeeper and her assistant in a spacious comfortable breakfast room. The food is delicious and very satisfying, with a view across a lovely garden.

My partner and I both enjoyed the ambiance and friendliness of this place and will go back again.
