Overview

The roman theatra
Actually numerous but for certain the Roman amphitheatre, the old town area (it is preserved museum town), the "vanity" street, and you will not fail to notice the tall monument of Phillip Macedonian

Quick Tips:

If you want really to enjoy the city, I think you should travel independently..

Best Way To Get Around:

Air, bus, train, as well...but do not trust to the first taxi driver at the air port or any station...he will charge you twice than the normal rates! The distance from Sofia to Plovdiv city is about 150 klm. and it takes 2h by bus and by train 2h and 30-45 minutes. Plovdiv also have airport, but it is mostly for charters to Pamporovo ski resort -- it is the second famous one in bulgaria. It takes one hour, 50 minutes with a car.
I would say its mostly a budget-type hotel. Not bad at all, especialy if your finances are limited. You get all the basic services for hotel. Located south of the central railway station and bus station, Rodopi. There is a web page, but it's currently in Bulgarian; however, you can get an idea of how it looks:

Restaurant

It is an excellent restaurant that offers Bulgarian and European cuisine. It has a beautiful summer garden and usually there is some live music. The restaurant occupies an old Bulgarian house, and it is located in the old town of Plovdiv-a tourist should visit it when he is in that area. You may visit their little web page at click here.
