You get a choice of beaches, the Pacific Ocean (strong current- not good for swimming) or the Gulf of California (great for swimming or snorkeling). There is also Lover’s Beach, which is inaccessible except by a strong swim, a water taxi, or by bouldering across to it! We chose the latter. My personal favorites were the ATV adventure and sunset cruise. On the ATV we convoyed to a large sand dune near a ruined lighthouse (the view was extraordinary). During the cruise we saw sea lions and the most spectacular sunset! The drinks were free flowing, but I don’t think that had anything to do with it. Los Cabos has great restaurants and awesome nightlife. Our favorites include Cabo Wabo Cantina (owned by Sammy Hagar), the Giggling Marlin Bar and Seafood Grill and Margaretville. El Pescador and Crazy Lobster were local favorites (and cheap!).
The Giggling Marlin provides a hilarious nightly floorshow and will take a souvenir photo of you strung up like a marlin. The food and drinks are inexpensive and great! You can dance on the tables at Squid Row and at Coyote Ugly, they do it for you.
Quick Tips:
Marlin fishing is most popular, but you can catch hefty tuna and other fishes as well. The marina is filled with fishing boats waiting for your adventure. Upon return, you can ice your catch in containers to ship home, provided at a cost, or you may choose to have it prepared at one of the numerous restaurants right off the marina.
If you are a scuba diver you are in luck! Dive shops ring the marina! Motorized water sports are available as well as non-motorized. Prices are negotiable! There is an abundance of restaurants. Prices range from very expensive to very affordable. Great local food is inexpensive. There is a local market if you have a fridge. Hotels off of the coastline are usually more reasonable than the big hotels on the coast.
Best Way To Get Around:
Travel from the airport can be accomplished by hotel shuttle, if prearranged or thru local taxi. Keep in mind that Los Cabos is approximately a 30-45 minute ride from the airport. Rental cars can be picked up from the airport and can be fairly reasonable on the internet. Travel while in Los Cabos is mainly by water taxis or local taxis, but most adventures are within walking distance. Some hotels offer shuttles to and from the "downtown" area at no charge.
