A September 2000 trip to Pictou by SmilingOwl
Quote: Pictou is on the other side of the province near Truro. The water on this side of the province is very shallow and much warmer. The night air and full moon is not a peaceful memory I will soon forget.
Overview
Next to the Quay was the pier and with a few boats docked and the full moon overhead we headed in that direction and the direction of the crowd of people. The mayor was giving a speech and they had a singer from Newfoundland. Celtic music soon filled our ears and our feet were soon tapping in time to tapping spoons or dancing in the small park next to the pier.
We spent the evening filling our ears with stories from young and old of their journeys to Pictou.
A night to remember... always.
Breakfast was included at the old Customs House Inn.. it was in an old pub in the basement.. seemingly Scottish.. old stone and bricks lined the walls making it seemingly ancient. The stories of the night before were told to other guests that had missed the fortunate experience we had. A great place to stay for a reasonable price!
