Old Forge, the town next to my hometown of Taylor, is a historically Italian area and that is reflected in the cuisine.
Although there are plenty of upscale restaurants in Northeastern Pennsylvania, you can't underestimate the value of a good quality pizza. In Old Forge, you will find so many sit-down pizza (and more) establishments to choose from.
A few of my favorites are:
Salerno's - Just off Main on Moosic Road
Their red pizza comes on a crust like none I've seen elsewhere. Doughy, but not thick like, say, Pizza Hut. Not too saucy. Just the right amount of cheese. Yum. And it's cheap too. You can get six cuts for less than $7. Dine-in too. Interesting bar

Arcaro & Gennell's - Main Street
This is my mother's personal favorite and if you're looking for a restaurant at which to satisfy your pizza craving when your companions are seeking something more (pasta, chicken, fish, etc.), check out A&G's.
Leaving Old Forge for a moment, you may want to try Arcaro's (no relation to the A&G in OF) of Taylor, on Main Street at the top of Taylor Hill.
The pizza is nowhere near traditional. Crust is thin, but kind of on the soft side and the pizza is topped by an almost liquid mixture of sauce and cheese. Kind of a specific and perhaps-acquired taste, but we like it. I'm craving it so much just typing about it! Their pepperoni is unique and delicious - sliced paper thing and larger than most.
