In the Civil war, two very large lighthouses were built looking upon the town of Long Branch. For viewing potential southern invaders to guiding the ships, the lughthouse's workers multi-tasked for the benefit of the union army. Now, a small museum, picnic area, great view, and an oppurtunity to climb the lighthouses are at the lighthouse area. When you climb the lighthouses you can see far, far away, especially on a sunny day. Just travel east of Long Branch, reccomended via car, and the signs and sightings of the towers will lead you to their destination.
