The jungle is a must! While you're there the bugs and humidity really get to you, but then you get to climb up dried waterfall beds and see wild macaws and monkeys. The stars at night too are absolutley amazing. There is nothing quite like it. The best way to describe it is to say the words, GO THERE!! And it only costs a day if you go with Amazonica Travel. We went with them, and were completely amazed. Our guide knew EVERYTHING about the jungle. And the chef cooked up banquets on the small pile of logs that substituted a stove!!
Quick Tips:
Stay in the Tuichi Hotel. They have nice clean rooms, hot (or cold!) showers and hammocks! When we were there it cost between 15/20 bolivianos per night. Also eat at Camilla's for great Burritos, Veggie Lasagna and a very welcoming atmosphere.Best Way To Get Around:
Walking is probably the easiest way to get around the town. For the jungle, going by boat seems the only logical form of transport. And you get amazing views from the river!!
