The boat-taxi ride from the airport - a nice way to get downtown while avoiding the heavy traffic. Actually when we docked we found out we were very far from our hostel, so we had to backtrack by taxi and got stuck in the horrible traffic anyway. it was the most pleasure taxi ride of my life: the driver spoke creole and entertained us the whole time, trying to teach it to us.

Quick Tips:

Stay longer than a weekend - we felt we did not have enough time to really appreciate Boston

Best Way To Get Around:

The centre can easily be seen by walking. Forlonger distances the subway is good too, and safe

This hostel is really a good value one - the location is wonderful: just down the road from Newbury Street - and within walking distance to many sights, Beacon Hill included. What we liked especially about it was the security: they took pictures of us and gave us an individual card to show whenever we were coming in. Also they have small rooms (2 people) as well as dormitories. For small budgets, it''s a really nice place

it's was great... but it was shocking too, in a way. Now bear in mind it was quite a few years ago. Anyway the guys who worked at the hostel took a liking to us and asked us out on the first night - it was our first trip to the USA and we were feeling very lost, so well, we decided, why not? Our new frineds decided to take us to a jazz club - since it was our condition to go out with them - and took us to Wallis. The music was brilliant - i dont remember who was performing though - and the club, small but friendly.
