Chilled out Cavtat

A July 2001 trip to Cavtat by littlesoosie

Cavtat may not be the centre of the world, but its relaxed atmosphere and close proximity to dubrovnik mean it's a great place to kick of your shoes and enjoy the view.

The highlight of cavtat for me was the stupidly large cafe to everything else ratio. You can eat good food for cheap prices, by international and local standards, chill out with a cool drink and enjoy the friendly company of the locals.

Quick Tips:

Cavtat doesn't have the widest range of shops, so bring most of the stuff you need, also visit the tourist office fairly early on and you'll discover that it's cheap and easy to get to other places where the pace is higher. If you want to go to Dubrovnik, the boats are the nicest way, but if you fancy racing around a corner, with a sheer drop to your right and only a foot's clearance then the bus is the way to go!!

Best Way To Get Around:

buses are ok ,but not quite as frequent as in cities like dubronik, the boats are lovely but limited in their destinations, and to be honest if you're staying in cavtat, just walk everywhere - it's about the most energetic thing you'll do!!
