When visiting Delhi you absolutely must visit the Old City and Connaught Place. For handicrafts - visit the cottage industries emporium, the market at Janpath (near Connaught Place) and Dilli Haat. If you are one for history, the red fort in the Old City, the Purana Quila (old fort), the Qutab Minar, the Tughlakabad Fort, Hauz Khas, Safdarjung's Tomb, and various structures from the British raj days, are worth a visit. The picture here is of the Qutab Minar.Quick Tips: Delhi can cater to all kinds of budgets...from luxury hotels, to extremely basic accommodations in the crowded lanes of Paharganj, which is where most of the backpackers head. `Hotel Namaskar` is a small hotel that seems to be ...Read More

The UK Magazine Restaurant recently rated the world’s 50 best restaurants. Among the prestigious few, Bukhara stood at number 14 in the world! The restaurant serves up cuisine from the north-west frontier. It is expensive to eat there, but the food is amazing. :)

Flavors of Italy

Restaurant | "Flavours of Italy"

Quote:
One of Delhi's `original' Italian restaurants, Flavours has been popular with Delhi-ites for a long time. It's run by a guy called Tarsillo Nataloni, who set up shop over 10 years ago after he came down from Italy. His clientelle grew fast, thanks to his personal interest and rounds at the tables, chatting diners up. Today it has expanded from the rather small -cosy setting that it used to be. It can get a bit crowded and therefore less personal nowadays.

Delhi Metro

Story/Tip

delhi metro Photo - Delhi, India
Quote:
Finally, Delhi's own metro! It's clean and efficient and as good as they come. However, it's a system that should have been in place many years ago. Thankfully, the government woke up to the reality of desperately needing an efficient public transport system. Only the first phase is in place for now--there are portions being added to the existing network by and by. This is one case, though, of a government-owned enterprise which has met deadlines and delivered. At least for now... First-timers and those visiting Delhi after a long time, be prepared to see construction activity all around. This essentially means roads dug up at many intersections and traffic diversions. Besides the Metr...Read More
