Nightlife: Head to the Rocket Bar for a good live show or laid back night of pool, or hit the Creepy Crawl for a punk show & a pint of Bass Ale.

Quick Tips:

Skip the stuffy museums. Check out the City Musem and look for Interesting attractions at the St. Louis History or Art Museums in Forest Park.

Best Way To Get Around:

The Metrolink is useless here unless you plan to go back and forth to casinos, the airport and the hockey rink or baseball stadium and nowehere else. Take the bus or grab a cab.

Forest Park

Attraction

Quote:
Forest Park is the best place to waste a day or four in St. Louis. The art & history musems, the Jewel Box, the Botanical Gardens, Zoo, Boathouse (Rent a canoe/rowboat or take a gondola cruise and have some drinks & munchies), ice skating rink, MUNY (Theatre), St. Louis Science Center --- It's all here! Also a great place for a walk, bike ride or run - there's a beautiful scenic winding path that courses through the entire park and runs by all the attractions.

The Creepy Crawl has Punk, Ska/Punk, HardCore, Emo, Indy, Grind, Thrash, Hard Rock, Death Metal, Power Metal, New Metal shows... basically anything loud. All shows are all ages. Open every night Monday through Saturday from 5PM to 1:30 AM. Tucker is the same as 12th Street. Look for the green awning in front and there is a lighted parking lot next to the building. If you want to save a few bucks free parking is usually available on the street.

The Rocket Rocks! They have live bands (check out www.rocketbar.net for a schedule) and the best jukebox around with stuff from Shudder to Think to Sunny Day Real Estate to Queens of the Stone Age to Fugazi. There's one pool table (always taken). Don"t show up before 10pm or you'll be the only one there. Specialty shooter: Red Headed Slut. Lovely.

Tivoli Theater

Attraction

Tivoli Theater Photo, St. Louis, Missouri
Quote:
The Tivoli is awesome. It's one of the last quaint little 3 movie theaters in St. Louis and shows mostly independent films. $7.75. Also the home of the St. Louis Independent Film Festival. Awesome interior architecture. The snack bar has gourmet coffee, the regular candies, Hot chocolate, etc. Right in the Loop too! Parking is a bear, so go on and fork out a couple of bucks at the garage across the street!

This is where to stock up on grub for next to nothing. Probably as close as you'll get to a european open-air market in the U.S.
