Heavenly Snowboarding in Tahoe

Overview

Quote:
We snowboarded at Heavenly, which was impressive and fun. Great snow conditions. Also checked out a few of the casinos in the downtown area.

Quick Tips:

Check the driving conditions before heading out from San Francisco, and prepare for tough night driving. Better to drive up in the daytime.

Best Way To Get Around:

Although many of the hotels and casinos have free shuttles, we drove and never paid for parking.
Quote:
Our room was quiet and clean with a decent bathroom. The furnishings were a bit rundown, but acceptable. The door locked well from the inside, but was right off the parking lot so it got loud when people went to their cars in the morning.

The front desk staff was curt and unpleasant, and we had a hard time leaving messages for other guests as well as receiving them. Still, the location in South Lake Tahoe was great and the room was free with purchase of our lift tickets at Heavenly. Beggers can''t be choosers!

Marie Callendar's

Restaurant | "Marie Callendar''s"

Quote:
Marie Callendar''s is a popular chain restaurant specializing in traditional American cuisine at rather high prices for what you get.

The atmosphere is quaint and comfortable, and they have an excellent salad bar, but paying $10 for a decent hamburger is ridiculous.

It''s a good option, but not a budget one.

The snow was great and I enjoyed my day of snowboarding at Heavenly. I had rented my gear from another location and it was easy to find places to check it securely while eating and using the phones, etc.

The lifts were never too busy; I hardly waited in a line and the runs weren't too crowded for early in the season.

Highly recommended!

Extremely helpful and friendly staff, plus low prices for rentals made Rainbow a great stop on the way to Heavenly.

My snowboard and boots were in great condition and fit perfectly. In addition, the staff was friendly and made it a wonderful experience.

Their retail selection included great stylish clothing, sunglasses, souvenirs and cold-weather gear at reasonable prices.

Easy to find on the left side of the road leading up to Heavenly. Many local hotels give out $5 coupons for rentals here.
