fall week-end on Nantucket

An October 2001 trip to Nantucket by travel mom

Nantucket is wonderful in the off season.

Bike trail to Madakat Beach, shopping, relaxing with a drink by the fire at your Inn.

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

Hy-Line ferry to the island, walking and biking.
This is a fabulous place to stay, especially in the off season when there are special packages. For $325.00 we got 2 nights lodging, continental breakfast, round trip fast ferry tickets for two and a $50.00 voucher for dinner in a local restaurant. The room was large and had a fireplace and canopy bed as well as a private bath. The inn provided extras such as fireplace logs, board games and books. The continental breakfast included fresh fruit, yogurt and breads/muffins. The staff was very friendly and helpful in suggesting restaurants (many were closed this time of year). While I wouldn''t describe this as a luxury inn, I felt it was an excellent value.

Restaurant

This was a wonderful place to have lunch on a cool, fall day. The pub is in the basement of the Jared Coffin House and is very cozy. The restaurant serves typical pub fare: burgers, soups and sandwiches. Our chowders were delicious and the service was fast and friendly.
