Taking My Dad to Hawaii Best of IgoUgo

Overview

Quote:
On Maui we toured a pineapple plantation, sailed to Lanai, drove the Road to Hana and drove to the top of Haleakalâ volcano. Then we hopped over to Oahu where we stayed on Waikiki beach, spent a day at the Polynesian Cultural Center and took in the highlight for Dad – Pearl Harbor. There we visited the USS Arizona memorial and took a tour of the Battleship Missouri. My Dad is 70 years old and this was his first commercial airline flight. But he had no problems as he flew from St. Louis to Minneapolis where we met up to catch our flight to Hawaii. Steven Seagal was on our flight from Honolulu back to the mainland.Quick Tips: * Tom Barefoot's Cashback Tours (808-879-4100), 7%...Read More

USS Arizona & Battleship Missouri Best of IgoUgo

Attraction | "USS Arizona & Battleship Missouri"

Quote:
* USS Arizona Memorial: Try to arrive by 7:00, the doors open at 7:30 and the first tour group leaves at 8:00; I know you want to sleep in on vacation. However if you arrive after 8:00 you may have to wait 2-3 hours to visit the Arizona.
* Battleship Missouri: Buy your tickets ($14/person) across the parking lot from the Arizona Memorial and take an open-air bus across the harbor. Tours are given by very patriotic veterans who know the battleship inside and out.

* Luau at Polynesian Cultural Center: $65/person - includes admission, evening show and luau; The food and entertainment at the luau are fabulous. Your ticket is good for a two-day visit, and both days are necessary to see everything. We only had time for a one-day visit, but wish we could have returned for more.
