Take a right into driveway and proceed to main entrance. Checking IN is usually quick unless you have a group ahead of you. Two people usually at front counter. Slow down, you are in Bend. They are polite, and give you coupons for a free drink at the Riverhouse lounge. Riverhouse has over 220 rooms, Spa units, Fireplaces, Kitchen. Rates start at $72 for Queen, Mini Suite/Kitchen $82/$92. Spa unit goes for $132nt. They have 3 spas, outside pool, inside pool & exercise rm. All the rooms are extremely large. Cable TV, VCR & rentals, coffee maker with tea. Be sure to request a room with fireplace (extra $$$) gas burner w/firelog daily. I always request a room overlooking the Deschutes River. If a kitch...Read More

I've eaten here so many times for breakfast, lunch and dinner and can't say I ever had a bad meal. Portions are large, especially breakfast. The setting is overlooking the Deschutes River. They have their own in-house bakery. I usually get their famous Apple Pancakes made with fresh Northeast apples and the giant cinnamon rolls are just that - giant. I usually take the rolls back to my room for a late snack. For lunch this trip I had crab cakes with Caesar salad. Salad is large enough to feed 3 people. During the summer you can eat outside on the deck along the river (see picture). Dinner is steak-time. They bring the steak platter out and you choose the cutting you desire. Prime Beef exclusively from...Read More

River's Edge Golf Course

Riverhouse golf course is one of the tougher courses in Bend. The hilly and mountainous terrain will give you fits. Some fairways you are in a canyon. Bring extra balls, because if you hit that little white ball off the fairway, the ball is usually lost in the dry dirt or rocky terrain. Mine usually find the trap or lakes, so I stock up at Payless or Walmart with 18 pack of balls. Greens and fairways are usually in top condition. The scenery is breath-taking. On a clear day you can see Mt. Bachelor, Three Sisters and Mt. Hood. Bring your camera as you have plenty of scenery to shoot. Bring a sweater/windbreaker in Spring, Summer & Fall. No snacks or beer carts, so bring your own refreshments. I'm a lo...Read More
