Sozopol is an ancient "greek" settlement, like you find more next to the black see. It is an old romantic town with a nice beach and several nice places to eat.

Overview

Coastline
There are two reasons to go to Sozopol. The first reason is the nice old town. There are several old-style wooden houses, some of them are even national momuments. The second reason is the sea. In summertime, the beach might be overcrowded, but in the spring it was a really nice place to be.

Quick Tips:

Although there are several hotels, check the locals to find a nice room. We found a nice place by ourself with a beautiful balcony with view over the sea. To reach Sozopol, just take a (mini)bus from the central station in Burgas. Enough transport is available there.

Best Way To Get Around:

Sozopol is small enough (still) to get to all the places by walking. Especially the old town. But this is also the most interesting part. To explore the nature around, it is probably better to rent a car, but if you like hiking, this is a good alternative.
It is reasonably easy to find accomodations at a private house. The only dificulty could be that not everyone can speek Enlish or German. Bringing along a Bulgarian friends can make things alot easier. Then you will get the best places with the nicest for almost nothing. If not, you always can try one of the tourist info bureau where they can help you finding one, but probably for a little fee more.
