Walking the beach. Shelling. Watching the dolphins play. Sailing. Enjoying the beach and sun, under an umbrella if too hot, or near a cabana if it is too cold.

Quick Tips:

Aqua shoes for walking on the shells. Also always shuffle your feet when walking in the water. Several years ago I got stung by a sting ray when in Ft Myers Beach. I stepped on one buried in the sand, while walking out to a sand bar. Remember to shuffle your feet when walking in the water. This will scare them away.

Best Way To Get Around:

A car is the best way to get around. You can walk to many areas and of course you can walk on the beach to many places to eat or drink.

Restaurant

The Isle of Capri is just north of Marco Island. Pelican Bend is a family owned and run business. They have the best sauteed grouper I have ever had. They do not take reservations. They have homemade salad dressings that are tremendous. House is a creamy garlic. They serve beer and wine. They open at 5 PM for dinner. They do serve lunch, but I do not know the hours.

Sailing along the beach of Marco Island is great. Sometimes you can see the dolphins swimming. Parasailing is pretty safe in Florida. If staying at the Charter Club, sailing is included with your membership.
