Restaurant | "A TREAT TO EAT BY THE HARBOUR"

I have eaten at the Pelican restaurant by Paphos harbour at least twice now. It’s hard to know where to eat along by the harbour in a way because; although there are a large number of restaurants in this area they are mostly similar in look and the menu they offer. But I always find it very hard to choose a restaurant because as soon as you go within a few metres of the restaurant or menu boards someone will pounce enticing you into their restaurants with offers of discounts on the menu or free carafes or half carafes (depending how many of you are there are) of wine and after being in the area for about ten minutes I find I can’t think straight.Really I believe that restaurants...Read More

Whilst on holiday in Paphos, Cyprus we wanted to go on a short boat trip. By we, I mean myself, my husband, my brother and his wife. I'm fond of a boat trip but often prefer to go on a shorter trip rather than go for a full day. I know from past experience that if one ventures to the harbour in Paphos there are many different type of boat trips on offer for varied amounts of time; the choice is good. I have been on glass bottomed boats, sailing boats, speed boats and goodness knows what else. The organisers of these trips around the harbour in Paphos are keen to sell their excursion and eager to bargain. I’ve booked trips from the harbour before but in this case m...Read More

THE FIESTA (Snack Bar & Grill) ~~~~~~~~THE NIGHT IS YOUNG~~~~~~~~ On our last holiday to Cyprus myself and my husband stayed, for the second time, in The Louis Imperial Beach Hotel which is situated on Poseidonos Avenue in the Paphos area of the island. My brother and his wife booked their holidays after we did and they stayed at a hotel near to ours, just a few minutes away, and also on Poseidonos Avenue. We were all staying on an all-inclusive basis, and so, apart from having a fairly light meal here once, when we had been out for most of the day, we mainly tended to eat at our own hotels and then have a late night drink at The Fiesta Bar. On our holiday in Cyprus myself and my husband had been doing some evening shopping around the harbour of Paphos. We’d intended returning to our hotel for dinner but had taken longer than intended. My husband commented that it was going to be touch and go whether we’d make it back to our hotel before the restaurant closed so we needed to find a taxi. We've been to Paphos many times and thought we knew our way around but on this occasion we were both so hot and weary. We felt it was too far to walk back to the taxi rank near to the bus depot, and thought we knew where to find taxis in the side streets. We were mistaken and got a bit lost. We knew which direction to go in but couldn't find the act...Read More

On my last holiday in Cyprus my husband and myself ate out a few times. We were staying at a hotel on an all-inclusive basis but we both feel that it’s only right to spend some money in holiday resorts if you are able, to help to keep restaurants, bars and shops running. One of the places we ate lunch at was a restaurant called ‘Tea for Two.’ We had arrived at the harbour of Paphos by a taxi speed boat which we boarded near to our hotel on Poseidon Avenue. Once at the harbour we visited the castle, a craft fair and then popped into a few shops until we thought it must be time for us lunch. My husband said that he fancied battered ‘proper’ fish and chips and by this he meant...Read More
