Carlisle Bay is a long stretch of coastline, situated right in the center of the rural village of Old Road. A quick stroll along a well beaten path from the main road leads you to the golden shores of one of the most picturesque beaches which Antigua has to offer. The shoreline is about a mile long, uncluttered and dotted with tropical palms. The beach has a distinct crescent shape, which extends out into the water with several rolling hills covered in vibrant green shrubs. This hilly landscape, along with the bright blue sea and sky creates a view which would impress even the harshest of critics. The sand is smooth in most spots, but certain areas are dappled with tiny seash...Read More

Attraction | "Fort Beach, Antigua"

Fort Beach is the closest beach to the downtown area of St. John's. With only a five minute drive, one can be transported from a loud and busy city to a peaceful spot of golden sand at Fort Beach. The beach received its name due to the close proximity to Fort James, an old colonial fortress on a nearby hill. Visitors tend to visit the Fort first, then spend a few hours at Fort Beach before leaving the area.tThe coastline is rather long, and the stretch of sand is lined with tall, sweeping willow trees which offer valuable shade from the sun. There are several small gaps between the trees, creating a perfect spot for parking and admiring the scenery while simultaneously avoiding the hea...Read More

Quote:
Sneaky Pete's is a well known beach bar located on the Westerly side of Dickenson Bay. Co-located at the establishment is a water sports business known as Seasports and both businesses function together as one. The bar is a vibrant blue and yellow colour and it easily stands out from the other buildings along the beach. In front, there are many blue beach chairs on the sand and these are available for rent for $5 USD. If the sun becomes too hot, guests can grab seats either beneath large umbrellas, or utilize the bar stools on the patio. Regardless of where you take up residence at Sneaky Pete's, the surrounding views are constant. The sparkling sapphire sea and the sugary...Read More

Attraction | "Beach Day at Shell Beach"

Shell Beach Photo, Antigua, Antigua and Barbuda
Quote:
Shell Beach is a narrow stretch of white sandy shoreline, located along Antigua's North coast. It's not a popular beach by any means whatsoever but in my opinion, this simply means less crowds and more privacy. It's a short drive away from the V. C. Bird International airport, so it you have a long layover, this is a pretty good way to pass the time. The water is quite shallow for a few feet out, the sand is soft and silky and due to its location on the Atlantic side of the island, there's a constant flow of cool sea breezes. The shore is next to a public road, but traffic is usually light even during the peak hours. This is because the road isn't a major route, but more like a backroad....Read More

Attraction | "Runaway Beach, Antigua"

Runaway Beach Photo, Antigua, Guatemala
Quote:
Runaway Beach is an exceptionally long stretch of soft and pristine white sand which gently tapers off to meet the clear waters of the Caribbean Sea. Although the sun has eased in its intensity from the crazy heat of July and August, the waters are still warm enough for visitors to enjoy a dip in the water. Due to the length of the shoreline, the beach doesn't tend to get packed, so you can easily claim a bit of space for yourself while there. The waves are gentle, the first few feet are quite shallow and the current isn't too strong to be an issue for young children. The views are quite lovely with the sparkling sea, cololurful seaside grape trees, swaying palms and even a small offshor...Read More
