The Fab 4D Experience is part of the overall Beatles Story experience in Liverpool, located at Pier Head, in the same building as the Mersey Ferries terminal. The main Beatles Story exhibition is located at Albert Dock, and alongside the Fab 4D Experience is the Elvis and Us exhibition. There are various tickets which cover entrance to different combinations of the attractions, all of which include the Fab 4D Experience. We purchased a ticket which covered entrance to that and the Beatles Story, at £12.95 each. The Fab 4D Experience wasn't something I was terribly bothered about visiting, but as it was included and we were there after getting off the ferry, I thought it might be a fun...Read More

One of the must-have experiences on our recent visit to Liverpool was to take a ferry across the Mersey. This turned out to be necessary in order to visit U-Boat Story, which we were very keen to do, but it was also something my partner's mum in particular wanted to experience, after the song Ferry Cross The Mersey. We had purchased day saver tickets for £4 each which included all bus travel and also ferry trips, which was very good value. We boarded the ferry at Pier Head, near Albert Dock and opposite the imposing Liver Building. As the ferry pulled away from the dock, we were welcomed on board and given some safety information. We were treated to a brief burst of Ferry Cross T...Read More

Attraction | "The Mystery of U 534"

U-Boat Story (U-Boat Museum) Photo, Liverpool, England

The story of U 534, a German submarine from the Second World War, remains a mystery. When the order to surrender was sent out to all U-boats on 5th May 1945, for some reason the captain of U 534 ignored the order, and continued on course to Norway. Along with three other U-boats, it was attacked by British aircraft, and sank near Anholt. U 534 was discovered in 1986, and after salvage was brought to Liverpool, where it is now on display at the U-Boat Story attraction at Woodside Ferry Terminal. When we planned our trip to Liverpool, this was one of the absolute must-sees for us. My partner is very interested in the Second World War, particularly the war at sea and the German U-boats. His en...Read More

Attraction | "Maritime Memories"

Quote:
The Merseyside Maritime Museum is located in Liverpool's Albert Dock, on the riverfront. Entry is fee, although of course donations are encouraged. We hadn't really planned to visit, but on heading down to the Albert Dock area on our first full day in the city, we decided to go in - getting out of the gale force wind was a plus point. The museum is organised into a variety of different areas and displays. We started in the basement where you can learn about customs and importation. We had some fun on the interactive displays here - I did very well on the customs officer test, and my partner did well in driving a boat simulator to chase down some criminals. Most of the displays in this area ...Read More

One of the most popular attractions in Liverpool is The Beatles Story, the exhibition dedicated to one of the city's most popular and beloved exports, the Fab Four who took the world by storm in the 1960s and whose popularity has continued ever since. The main exhibition is situated in the Albert Dock. We paid £12.95 each for tickets which also included admission to The Fab 4D Experience. The Beatles Story was the last attraction we went to during our long weekend in Liverpool, and one that we were all looking forward to.The Beatles Story tells the story of the band from the very beginning, giving information on their childhoods and then moving onto their musical beginnings, wit...Read More
