Red Lobster Restaurant

Restaurant | "Great experience at Red Lobster"

Quote:
We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Syracuse and needed to have dinner so walked across to Red Lobster, which is located just across the parking lot. Although it was very busy we were seated straight away and offered drinks. The menu is quite extensive and I chose Walt's Favorite Shrimp with crispy red potatoes. My husband chose fish and chips. Each of our meals came with a salad, but neither of us wanted that so instead we were offered an additional accompaniment. I had green beans and my husband had mixed veg. When the food arrived it looked very nice and there was quite a lot of it. We both really enjoyed the meal. The only problem was we had no room for dessert, so had to go wi...Read More

Ruby Tuesday, Destiny USA

Restaurant | "Rudy Tuesday disappointment"

Quote:
Whilst shopping at Destiny USA we decided to have something to eat. As we had been to a Ruby Tuesday before, we chose to have dinner at the one in the mall.I ordered the Smoky Mountain Chicken, which was chicken, covered in cheese and bacon. I had mashed potatoes and snap peas to go with it. My husband had the same main with fries and onion rings. It took about 20 mins to receive the food. The chicken was nice, as was the mash, but the snap peas were cooked to within an inch of their lives, they were disgusting. My husband said his meal was okay, but nothing special. Our first experience of Ruby’s was very good, but this one, not so much. Had this been our first exper...Read More

Whilst staying in Syracuse we travelled the 50 minutes or so west to Waterloo to visit the Waterloo Premium Outlets Mall. This is an outdoor mall full of outlet stores with a huge central parking lot. When we arrived it was midday so we went to the food court area for some lunch. They have an Arby’s, Burger King, China Express and several others to choose from. In this area there is also an information booth where you can pick up a map and coupons. We parked at one end of the mall and visited all the shops in this section then drove to the other end and repeated. This way we were never too far from the car to drop off our purchase, which saved carrying tons of bags around with u...Read More

Attraction | "Destiny USA, the new name for Carousel Mall"

Quote:
The last time we visited this mall, a couple of years ago, it was called the Carousel Mall, but it has since changed its name to Destiny USA. The mall itself is the same as it was with the usual stores you find in most American malls including JC Penny, Macy’s etc. However the mall has been extended quite a bit to include a lot more shops, restaurants etc. In the new section there are many shops already open such as Dicks, Wilson’s Leather, Lindt etc, but many units are still the be filled. There is signage stating that shops such as Monsoon are opening soon, but we obviously timed it a little too early. I imaging if we were to visit again next year most of the stores would be open and it ...Read More

Hotel | "Two nights at the Hampton"

Quote:
We stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago when it first opened and it was very nice, so we decided to stay there again whilst visiting Syracuse. It is located close to the main roads and makes it ideal to travel to most locations. There is a little road noise and we heard a lot of motorbikes, but it was not too bad. We had a king room with a sofabed, 37" flat TV, dresser and desk. The TV had probably the best picture and selection of channels we had seen at any hotel. Usually TV reception is on the poor side, but the HDTV gave us a clear and sharp picture. The bed was very comfortable, however the pillows were not. Although we had a king size bed, the pillows were small dou...Read More
