The location of the Abbey is fantastic with lovely gardens and the river near by with a circle of restaurants and bars near the entrance for the much needed refreshments and snacks, also in the same courtyard is the Roman Baths with more coffee shops and gift shops, with some traditional English fudge stores. I am far from a religious person, but I do like old churches, buildings, castles ect, mainly for their "feel, character and architectural values" and of course their places in history. The Abbey in Bath is by far one of the best as It stands out a mile from all around the town, it is incredibly large and high with breathtaking views from all around. Bath Abbey is a real stunning build...Read More

Ben's Cookies

Ben's Cookies sell a wide range of biscuits/cookies baked fresh on the premises everyday. They also sell coffee and soft drinks.I have to admit the cookies here are exceptionally great!!, very good indeeeeed. They are like the motto for pringles and once you pop you can't stop, they are that good! They have a sticky sweet cakey/gooey like texture, almost straight out of the oven, rather than the traditional crunchy cookies you get from most other places. My favourite flavors have to be the ginger ginger, which contains bits of crispy ginger as well as ginger spice, and white chocolate chip; and of course the old favourite double chocolate chip... hell yea!!!!! . However th...Read More

First of all I must mention that this pub/restaurant does have a great location and is central and not far up the road from Bath Abby and the Roman Baths which are the most popular touristic sites, and across the road from the Hilton Hotel. We Visited here as it is said to be THE oldest pub in Bath and has connections with Dickens, apparently this pub use to be an old 'Ale House' where dickens use to drink and wrote one of his books? There is a small area dedicated to him with a few book shelves with some of his books (old and tatty!!) to read and a few pictures. This is probably the pubs best marketing tool and frankly they do not do anything with it in order to attract the attention of p...Read More

First of all I must mention the location. As a tourist this location is perfect, only a short walk from the train/bus station (limited parking in Bath if you travel by car!), and its is close to all the best attractions, Bath Abby, The Roman Baths, the river and small park, and just a short walk from all the designer shops on the main street. The views from the windows are great so while you are sat down enjoying a coffee, a beer/wine or splashing out on a bottle of champagne while you have dinner, it is perfect! If you are spending the night there this is the central bar so which ever direction you take you will find other nice/ not so nice and luxury clubs, bars and restaurants, but this place is o...Read More

The Roman Baths

Attraction | "Roman Baths @ the heart of England!"

The Roman Baths Photo, Bath, England
Quote:
The Roman Baths is basically a site of historical interest in the old traditional English city of Bath. The house is a well-preserved Roman site to tour and still has warm water 1000's of years later and still has a separate area for public bathing. The Roman Baths themselves are below the modern street level. With an area steeped in history, you cannot pass up a chance to visit this world heritage site, especially when it is located in the centre of Bath only a short work from the train/bus stations. Imagine walking into a place where the Roman diplomats, generals and leaders used frequently for their steaming hot springs to relax them in a time of war. You can combine this magical and ...Read More
