The first time i heard of the wall i still expected to see a large wall standing in the middle of the city but i quickly learned that that is not the cause anymore. I visited the most popular part of the wall at Niederkirchnerstrasse. It’s easily the most visited part of the wall. I have to say that there are many tourists here so the other parts of the walls might be less busy.
If you are really interested in the history of the wall and the city i would recommend to the the walking tour with a guide. The guide will tell you lots about the history and the impact the wall had on the people and the families who got divided. The wall itself is impressive to see and worth the trip. It can be a little bit crowded especially during the weekend but you can still appreciate it.
