The hotel seemed ideal because it is located right near the A206 motorway. Unfortunately it was quiet difficult to find the hotel but that was mostly due our navigation system. According to the man of the reception he heard this so often and unfortunately it took us half an hour to finally arrive at the hotel. A plus is that the hotel has a private parking (free) and far enough from the highway, so it will not bother you.

The hotel reception

Before the car park you must first ringing the intercom. Then you can park and walk inside the hotel. Here you will find reception, elevator, bar and restaurant area. It looks solid, but a bit dated. It's only a two star hotel and did not expect anything else. We were kindly received by a man behind the desk and the checking in was also done so. We got a key and a neat explanation of how we could reach the chamber. We had no breakfast more regularly. The hotel reception is like a small elevator that you just two people and luggage can.

The room

The room was located on the first floor and is accessible by elevator. You reach the room from the outside along like a large balcony. You can not go down, but hang, ashtrays are clearly meant to be here smokes. Smoking in the room is also prohibited. At the front of the chamber has two windows, and thus the door. A disadvantage of these windows is that everyone can look inside if you have the curtains open and I did not feel quite nice to have the window open.

The room is small but has everything else you need. The bed consisting of two single beds. The room also has a television and desk with chair, a wardrobe and a bathroom with tub / shower combination, toilet and sink. The bathroom looks fine, except for a hole through the wall. A shame.
The bed was fairly comfortable, but for me I found him a little too hard and the pillows too small. You have in the wardrobe an extra pillow and blanket. The television has the normal Dutch channels and has a remote control. What I missed was two night stands beside the bed and a wall outlet to charge my phone. Now I had my phone charging in the bathroom.

Facilities

The hotel has several facilities including a restaurant and bar. We arrived after eleven o'clock, but the bar Sat reasonably full and looked cozy. In the restaurant you can enjoy morning breakfast, but we have not done this further. An advantage of the hotel is that it has free Internet access, including the room itself. Always very pleasant.

Conclusion

For a two star hotel, the hotel is fine. I found the hotel a little difficult to find and it all looks well dated. The hole in the wall was definitely a big downside and looks unkempt. The room was also great and had everything we needed. Especially the free internet was a plus in addition to free parking. We also had no problems with noise from the nearby rooms. We have a total paid 58 pounds a night for what is reasonable. I give this hotel three stars because it generally just is not. The bed was just not comfortable enough and above the hole in the wall was a sin.

When you walk in you get to the chance to get your picture taken but we choose not to. The selection of animals is large and be prepared for lot of walking. There is a special trail for wheelchairs and people with prams. The zoo has many animals and most are not behind bars, so no large fences blocking the way of sight. You can freely take pictures but the animals are on a safe distance. Depending on the kind of animals of course. You can see the most popular animals lie camels, tigers, lions, penguins, birds, alligators, but also monkeys are here to be find. I was impressed by how the animals lived and they had clearly quite a moving spaces. No cages for them and they seems contempt with the space they had. The animals seemed to be well kept and fed and the living spaces seemed clean enough.

There is plenty of opportunity to eat and drink at the zoo. At the entrance you get a map and here you can read where the restaurants and food stalls are. Throughout the zoo you see enough food stalls, benches and bins. The zoo was well kept and clean. The food you can get our simple frites and sausages but also healthier food like sandwiches and salads. The prices of the food were reasonable and we had simply some frites and a soft drink and think we spend around 7 euro’s which was cheap.

It’s very pleasant to visit this zoo. I think it’s very well planned and it easy to find your way. You get a map at the entrance of the zoo and you can easily find your way around the zoo. The animals looked good and well-kept and they were easy to see. When you get hungry or tired there are more than enough opportunities to eat and rest. We saw quite a few staff members walking around and they looked polite and helpful. I think the zoo is worth the visit although it can be very expensive for a whole family. The Museum of Docklands is located in the city of London. It's not one of the main attractions of Londen and that's mainly due it's not located in the city centre. The museum is worth visiting, as we thought when we looked at their website. We were in London just for a couple of days and since we have been there before we wanted to visit some other attractions then the main ones like Big Ben.

The museum is best reached by the tube but also by boat, bus and even by car. When you come with car there is plenty of paid parking available. Since we went with the tube i can't really comment on how expensive the parking was. With the tube the museum is very easy to reach. You need to get off at the station West India Quay and then it's just a short walk.

The museum is housed in a large warehouse which you can't miss. The warehouse looked old from the outside but you can clearly see it has been redone and while looking old it's all perfectly in order. The inside of the warehouse is just the same. You have the old ordaments and features while you can see it has been repainted just a few years ago. What striked me was the very large windows and the exposed brickwork. Of course the high ceilings are beautifull too.

When you enter you will see there is a small cafe there were you can have food and drinks. Outside the building were also a few tables were you could sit down, which looked nice but it was simply too cold for us.

At the museum you can visit eleven permanent galleries which all tell the story about London, being more specific about the Docklands, River Thames and all about the past of London. The exhibtions are divided over several floors but are clearly layout and easy to follow. There is normally one temperaly exhibition which is only there for a few months. I have to say that our favourite was the Sailor town which had a reconstruction of the full size dark winding streets of Victoria Wapping.

A great thing is that the museum is free to visit and only the special exhibitions costs a fee. The museum is worth the visit and you can easily spend the afternoon here. Five stars! Read Less
