Restaurant | "Belgian food in Montreal?"

Quote:
When I walked trough Montreal during my vacation, I was surprised to see a restaurant with a Belgian flag. I thought it was strange to be in Canada and see a Belgian restaurant. What can you expect here? I know Belgian frites and chocolate so of course I wanted to try it out! Frite Alors has a limited menu, the main element is of course frites! You can order a typical Belgian frites which you get in a basket, but also order Belgian snacks like Frikandel, skewer, crizly, viandel. All strange names but certainly fun to try out. I thought especially the Frikandel was quite nice which is meat but when I asked what kind of meat, the person said I don’t want to know….What is Belgian ...Read More

The Sheraton hotel is in the heart of Vancouver, surrounded by shops of Robson Street and Yaletown, shopping malls, clubs, art galleries and theaters, and a variety of local and international restaurants. The hotel is really close to everything and everywhere you walk around. There are also 3 bus stops at the hotel.ReceptionIt's a nice big spacious reception when you arrive your luggage will be brought up to your room. At the reception, you get friendly service and you may pay in advance or after your stay. At the reception desk is a gift shop and a small shop for when you want something nice.DisabilityThere is clearly also thought about disabled when th...Read More

For our trip to Canada we had already booked our hotel through the Internet. But when we arrived in Jasper at the hotel they appeared facing the worst mosquito infestation ever. Immediately when we got out of the car we were attacked by dozens of mosquitoes and the reception was not much better. The owner did not mind that we cancel our reservation, but then we had to look for another hotel in the area. However, we were not looking for a standard hotel but in the countryside, with detached houses. The local tourist offices showed us Alpine Village, where we could stay some nights. This park was fortunately not affected by the mosquito plague!LocationMiddle of the Canadian Rocki...Read More

After a long flight to Canada, I came to Halifax International airport. Straight to car rental Herz, where I had booked my car and then looking for my hotel that night. I have made more use of the Howard Johnsom chain and also in Halifax. I was exhausted, but I was still here to stay alert because I had yet to find my hotel, that I had reserved via Internet.LocationAddress: Howard Johnson's Inn & Suites 636 Bedford Highway Halifax, Nova Scotia.By car it takes about 25 minutes from the airport. Located only minutes away from down town Halifax. Through the internet I found a good offer for this hotel. For the amount of 89 Canadian dollars for a room, including breakfast...Read More

We have been awake a lot last night. We force ourselves several times to really have to lie down. At eight we had enough and we got out. Last night it pretty cooled down but the sun will warm the day up. Around 10.00 hours we leave for Tofino. Today we have some 300 km to drive.Only a few km from the campground we stop again for a walk to a waterfall and an old gold mine. The waterfall is nice but not spectacular. We walk to the gold mine. The double pass is soon steeper and steeper. Our calves are having a hard time again. The walk is beautiful but after half hour walk we begin to wonder how far it is but luckily suddenly we see the mine. It's fun to watch but not really spect...Read More

Wondering around a large city one does get hungry and starts looking for a restaurant to food. What I love is that the menu was writen in Spanish and luckily also in English otherwise i wouldn’t be able to understand. I do speak a little bit of Spanish but not really enough to impress people. The restaurant had a bit of a cuban style ot it and made us very curious about the food inside.Entering the restaurant was surprising since there wasn’t even a door. The restaurant is open to the street and only have a few tables outside and a few inside. The inside had bright colors of red and green and looked very inviting. The small restaurant had a bar with a massive espresso machine and a impress...Read More
