On the eighth day of our trip we set out from Calgary to return to Banff National Park. We had previously spent time in Banff and the surrounding area, but in the national park there are of course much more to see. Along the way we cameat Bow Summit and Peyto Lake.Bow Summit is referred to as the highest point between the towns of Lake Louise and Jasper. Driving through the pass you are surrounded by the gigantic mountain landscape, which is really very impressive. But the alpine meadows that are found here in the summer are very nice to see. The Peyto Lake is a lake in turn fed by glacier water. It was named after Bill Peyto, who at the end of the 19th Century has worked in the National P...Read More

The hotel is located on a busy intersection. Opposite there is a small park and the entrance to the underground garage of the hotel. Towards the city center is home to several bars and restaurants. Overall the hotel's location is very good because you are right in the centre and not far from attractions, bars and restaurants. The Hotel is a skyscraper with 20 floors. From the outside it looks not necessarily stylish or appealing and its just a typical high-rise. As the Sandman Hotel Calgary City Centre is located at an intersection, you can see the hotel very well from afar. The entrance to the underground garage of the hotel is located on the 8th Street SW. For one night we paid a parkin...Read More

During our trip to Canada we went from Banff to Calgary. This is not really on the way to go in the direction of Jasper National Park, but it was worth the detour and from Banff by car it was only about 90 minutes. After our arrival in Calgary, we first explored the inner city and we made our way to the Calgary Tower. The Calgary Tower was built in 1968 as a television tower and was first Husky Tower, as Husky Oil is one of the joint venture. He was only renamed in 1971. The construction of the tower cost 3.5 million Canadian dollars. With a height of 191 meters, it offers tourists, who flock by express elevator up, a magnificent view over the city. While there are now around the tower ev...Read More

In the Cascade of Time Gardens is a park, more specifically, a geological garden. The architect Harold C. Beckett from Ontario, who designed the garden, had a dream that visitors would take a trip in the garden through time. The garden is laid out in stages and should reflect the emergence of the Rocky Mountains. The flower beds are bordered with various stones. These in turn originate from different eras. Based on the stones so you can understand the formation of mountains. First and foremost today visitors come here to look at the beautiful flowers, relax or have a picnic. The Cascade of Time Gardens surrounds the administration building of the Banff National Park. This beautiful building was also d...Read More

The museum is located in the city of Toronto and it was just something different for us to do on holiday. We actually founded a flyer at the hotel and decided to go. We are always interesting in history. The museum is failrly easy to reach by public transport and by car. There is parking available at the museum for a small fee. When we arrived at the museum we were kindly helped by a very friendly lady behind the counter. She gave us a map of the museum and some information. She also friendly asked where we were from. Since we visited the musuem in the summer we also got a flyer with the summer program. With the map was a descprition of the musuem and was pretty selfexplanorary. ...Read More
