The city of Sirmione is located right near the famous Lake Garda. The town is most notable for the Scaliger Castle which has a rare example of medieval port fortification and the church which dates back to the 12th century. It’s a small town but a great place to stay since it’s within walking distance of Santa Maria Maggiore and Castello Scaligero. The hotel is a small imtimate hotel with only 28 guest rooms which are all accessble by elevator. Most importantly the rooms all have air conditioning which during the summer is simply a must. We stayed in a room with the amazing view over the lake. It was quiet a large room and had everything we needed including a balcony, satellite televi...Read More

Jurys Inn Edinburgh

The Jurys Inn is a cheap hotel located in the city of Edinburgh. I had to book here last minute and was quite surprised with the price! For less than 60 pounds I could book a double standard room including breakfast. Now of course this is not a five star hotel and really a pretty basic hotel but as long as it had a bed I was happy with it!The hotel has quite a central location with about five minutes walking from the main street in Edinburgh called Princess Street. Here you can find all the shops, nightlife and lots of restaurants. Also the large train station of Edinburgh Waverly is around five minutes walking so the hotel has a very central location. After entering the room I ...Read More

Going to the city of Edinburgh was one of my favourite city trips since the last few years. Simply because Edinburgh has a lot to offer and its old and modern at the same time. There are a lot of attractions, a good night life and lots of shops. There are a lot of restaurants here to choose from. On our second day in town we went to a restaurant called The Tolbooth Tavern. The Tolbooth Tavern is a beautiful old building dating back to the sixteen century. It was previous used to collect toll from people passing by but it has also been used as a prison and even a torture chamber! Luckily that’s not the case anymore and now it’s just a restaurant. Of course it has been update since then and...Read More

Attraction | "Going to the Zoo in Edinburgh"

Quote:
Edinburgh Zoo is almost a must when you visit the city, at least if you like animals of course. When driving towards the Zoo you can see the zoo well signposted ahead. When you arrive there is a large car park with lots sufficient spaces to park. We were here on a Saturday and although it looked busy inside but outside was more than enough parking. Public transport access is good.On entry you can see the prices and as expected it’s not cheap. As an adult you pay 15,50 pounds and for children from the age of 3 you have to pay 11 pounds. Quite expensive if you are going with a whole family. We were with the two of us and lost 31 pounds. There are discount tickets available. When y...Read More

The Museum On The Mound is located in the heart of the city of Edinburgh. The museum is all about the history of money. Not only about collecting coins but also from crime and making the money. It’s not a large museum and the best thing is that there is no admission. Perfect for an afternoon and since you don’t have to pay there is no harm in visiting. When you get in you first pass the information desk were you can get a floor plan and some other information. The floor plan describes in detail what you can find in the museum. The museum is what you can expect from most museums. Most items are behind glass and each item has a description of what it is and where it comes from. You can find i...Read More
