Craig-Y-Nos/Craig Y Nos Castle

Hotel | "A Ghostly Castle full of exciting frights & scares! "

LocationCraig Y Nos Castle is situated between Swansea and Brecon, within the Brecon Beacons NationalPark. We decided to stay here on our trip through Wales as firstly it is situated very close to Dan-Yr-Ogof caves and secondly there is some history behind the castle as well as some exciting attraction held in the castle which was a must for me and my friends. HistoryCraig-y-Nos Castle and it's grounds were once the estate of a celebrated opera diva by the name of Adelina Patti who during her life (1843-1919) became one of the worlds most famous and highly rewarded entertainers.Today Adelina Patti is something of an enigma. She was once the second...Read More

Location:While we were visiting Oakwood we learnt about an massive underground cave system near by. Its is a few hour journey from Pembrokeshire to Powys and the caves are situated near Swansea city, on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Close to the caves was a bed and breakfast located inside of craig-y-nos castle, if you wish to stay in the area overnight. There are also shuttle buses direct to swansea from Cardiff and then you can take an organised bus, or use first cymru public buses to get to the caves. (Check timetables and directions of buses online to help) or of course take a taxi from Swansea, but could be expensive, or the easiest option if you live around Wales or ...Read More

LocationWe stayed at Slebech Park because of its location. It was very close to Oakwood Park and situated in a very peaceful environment in the heart of Pembrokeshire National Park, with 600 acres of private country grounds. It is a 5* establishment but the room prices per night were not as high as other hotels offered in the area. If you wish to stay longer than the one night, this hotel is in a perfect location. The center of Narbeth is approx 6.5 miles, Haverfordwest is approx 7.5 miles, also coastal towns including Fishgaurd is 20 miles away, Tenby is approx 14 miles and Saundersfoot is approx 13 miles away. These are all popular destinations in Wales over the Spring and S...Read More

Oakwood Theme Park

Attraction | "A Land of Adventure"

If you go when it is a bit quieter this is a great place to visit! The entrance price has gone up over the years but the park has added a couple of extra rides. The rides are not for the highest of adrenaline junkies who go to Florida or even Alton Towers (England), but they will definatly give you a thrill or two with their huge drops, twists and turns when you are thrown upside down or sliding at high speed down the water shoots. If you go during school holidays it can be very busy and you will spend a lot of time queing. If you book online you can save 10%. The best part and very unique was the mini train ride from the entrance to the park. It was pretty cool. There is a childrens area with...Read More

Owain Glyndwr Pub

Restaurant | "STONEGATE PUB COMPANY"

Firstly I must say that the Owain Glyndwr is an interesting venue to visit just the once in your life. It has a great location just behind Queen street and close to Cardiff Castle, it has a nice beer garden and looks absolutely great inside. The decor looks impressively classy with dark brooding reds and chandeliers lighting the whole pub. Also the prices suggest that this is trying to target an upper class market. However!! ........there does tend to be some bad company popping inside from time to time through out my stay. I stayed for most of the day eating and drinking over the space of the Friday afternoon/early evening and I probably saw no more than 20 people over the space of this ...Read More
