Trailing around California Adventure is tiring but there is lots to do so by late afternoon we knew that we would like to stay in the park to eat rather than leaving and trying to find somewhere in the local area of in downtown Disney. I was determined that my teenage children would not just opt for chicken and fries as I wanted them to be a little more adventurous.Looking at the map of the Park we realised that the Pacific Wharf area of the park, located between Carsland and Paradise Pier seemed to be where the majority of the restaurants were located including both Table Service and Counter Service choices. Trying to keep to a reasonable budget we decided that we would investigate the ...Read More

We had decided to make our way to Splash Mountain for one last ride before finding ourselves something to eat. Unfortunately when we had hiked all the way across the Disneyland Park to Critter County we found that Splash Mountain was down. Since we were so far across the park we thought we might as well give the Winnie the Pooh ride a try and then hunt for foo. However on our walk around the corner we spotted the Hungry Bear restaurant. This restaurant is certainly tucked away which may account for why it was virtually empty in the early evening on a busy summer day. The natural wood makes it merge in to the surroundings as well. Since we were all rather peckish we thought we might as...Read More

Our children had discovered quite a love of Mexican food on our west coast trip so one day in the Disneyland Park we made a visit to Rancho del Zocalo for a late lunch. We had originally found the restaurant more by accident the previous day whilst hunting for a Restroom but it is located in Frontierland between the Shooting Gallery and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The entrance is a little hidden as you have to cross a very attractive courtyard and go down the side of the building. This entrance way is all beautifully decorated in a Mexican colour scheme and there were lots of pretty flowering plants (I think they are Bougainvillea). The menu looked quite extensive with lots of vari...Read More

Having eaten at several restaurants serving Mexican food we decided that the time was right to try a different menu for our Disneyland Park Dinner. We liked the area around the New Orleans part of the park so we decided to visit the quick service restaurant called the French Market. We found it a little tricky to find as I thought the entrance was around the streets at the back but it is actually facing the Rivers of America fairly close to the Pirates of the Caribbean. The menu was slightly different to some of the other places and it advertises itself as serving roasted citrus chicken, roast beef and salads. My son looked at the menu and immediately said there was nothing he ...Read More

The first day we were staying at Disney’s Grand California hotel we decided to make the most of the early entry to California Adventure and were in line to enter the park at 6.30am. This was fine but it did mean that by lunchtime we were struggling as we were tired, hungry and hot so we decided to head back to the hotel to grab something to eat and then take a rest.Anyone can leave the California Adventure Park and enter the Grand California hotel via the side entrance which is located near the rapids ride. However the sign say that only hotel guests can re-enter the park that way but I am not sure if that is correct. We decided that we needed to grab something quite quick so w...Read More
