My friend and I often take our children out for lunch or tea because it is a nice treat for them but also a break for us from cooking and an opportunity to catch up! Last week we were heading to the shops and as it was around lunch time when we were setting off decided to call at McDonalds for lunch. On this occasion we went the branch at Ewood on Livesey Branch Road, Blackburn as it would be hopefully quieter than the one in the centre of Blackburn. The restaurant is situated right across the road from Ewood Park which is the home of Blackburn Rovers and so on match days it can get very busy indeed. The restaurant on match days actually turns the drive through in to a walk through for s...Read More

My friend and I had decided last minute to take our children out for tea on Saturday. We had decided to go to a pub where there would be a play area for the children to run wild but when we went to the one we would normally visit it seemed everyone had the same idea and so it was very busy. As such we decided to try somewhere else and my friends daughter wanted to visit Pizza Hut. On this occasion we visited Pizza Hut in Pilsworth, Bury.==What is Pizza Hut==Pizza Hut, as the name suggests, is an establishment which sells Pizza! They do also offer pasta as a main course as well though but I am always of the mind that if I am going to Pizza Hut I may as well have pizza! Pizz...Read More

Frankie & Benny's Blackburn

My friend and I do like to take our children out for tea as often as we can reasonably afford as it is a nice treat for them but also quite nice for us too as single parents to get out and catch up whilst the children are happy. Our most recent trip out was to Frankie and Benny’s in Blackburn where we have both visited on numerous occasions.==What is Frankie and Benny’s?==Frankie and Benny’s is a 50’s style New York Italian restaurant and bar. They serve various dishes along this theme and so you will find items such as pasta, pizza, burgers and salads on the main menu. They do cater for children and have special children’s menu’s both for the younger child and the older and...Read More

My friend and I like to take our children out for tea quite regularly as we see it as a nice treat for all of us. One place that we all really like is Nando’s and on this occasion we visited the restaurant in the Trafford Centre in Manchester.**What is Nando’s and what do they do?**Nando’s is basically a Portuguese style restaurant which offers mainly chicken but some vegetarian options as well along side their peri peri sauces to give it a bit of a kick. Starters at Nando’s aren’t something I like to buy as I find a main meal fills me enough but you are able to get small items such as dips and pitta or a bowl of olives for around £3.50.There are variou...Read More

For my birthday this year my son, my sister and I went to a local Indian restaurant for a meal. We all enjoy a nice curry and have been to Ashoka plenty of times before and always return due to the good experiences we have there. This is a review of our latest visit.Ashoka is situated at 255 Bacup Road, Rawtenstall, BB4 7PA and you can contact them on 01706 231665. The restaurant is on the end of a row and has a customer car park just to the side of it which is really convenient because parking can be quite tricky on Bacup Road as a rule. The restaurant looks quite nice from the outside with fresh flower displays in the window which often look quite dramatic and change from week to we...Read More
