In my holiday I was very busy with working at my house but luckily the last week I spend on going away to Cochem in Germany and visited the wildlife park Duane. Location & accessThe park is tucked away and on a mountain, but it’s not hard to find. From where we were it is well signposted so it was easy to find with car. When you arrive, well you don’t really need a parking space because you will drive trough the park with your car. The only place you have to park your car is when you want to visit the monkeys and the falconer. What to expectAn 8km route through the habitat of Lamas, Alpaca’s, Deer, Hogs, Horses, Muffles, Yaks etc. Theirs is also a 80...Read More

The Reichsburg is high above Cochem seen from afar a sign of its onetime importance. More than 100m high above the Moselle she sits on the "cone" shaped mountain that seems to continue in the building and apparently culminates its peak in the slate roof of the massive tower. It originated around the year 1000 as Count Palatine Castle. Around 900 years ago, killed here in a mad fit of jealousy, the Count Palatine Henry I's wife Matilda in bed, is of this terrible murder today in the legends of the question. The castle soon developed together with the city to the most important customs, economic and administrative center between Trier and Koblenz. In 1689, the unfortified city was ...Read More

When you're on the Moselle in Cochem, then you must have visited at least one wine tasting. Now we wanted something more than just tests, partly because my father is allergic to alcohol and that wouldn’t be fun. So it was a visit to a wine cellar with a tasting attached.Access & LocationThe wine cellar "Hieronimi" is one of the larger wineries in the area. Located on the Moselle, on the other side of the center of Cochem. From the center you can cross the bridge and cross the Moselle on the road under bridge along the Moselle you find the wine cellar. There is plenty of parking near the cellar. Across the road is a space within which you are park for free. You will have to ...Read More

When we were on holiday in Cochem we went a few times out for dinner and we also went to this restaurant. It's a small restaurant that has been there over 39 years. The house has its own specialties and international dishes which include Greek and Italian.Accessibility and locationIt is in a street right next to the main square of Cochem where a beautiful fountain is in the middle. Unfortunately for the disabled people it is difficult to reach by car, so you have to walk to get to the restaurant. Parking spaces can be found in the parking garages around the downtown and along the Moselle. From the Mosel is about 5 to 10 minutes depending on where you can find a parking spot....Read More
