Sometimes when on holiday you don’t want to go far from your hotel to get a bite to eat. When we actually walked back to our hotel we walked past a steak house restaurant only around 500 metres from the hotel and decided to go back here during the night for food. Since the door was closed the first time we walked here we didnt know how it looked on the inside but we took a change.Once parked, first impression upon entering the terrace: Fairly old a little worn, but at least reasonably clean. We were greeted by an elderly gentleman who asked us first if we needed a table and then asked us how many people we are. - After I turned around and only my wife was standing next to me, I said...Read More

Columbus Monument/Monument a Colom

He is showing us the way to America with his outstretched arm and fingers. Christopher Colombus stands here. The statue stands on a tall slender column on the Plaça del Portal de la Pau at the southern end of Las Ramblas, showing his arm outstretched right west, out into the open sea.The statue stands were, between the Ramblas, the famous strolling and shopping area of Barcelona and the port. So if the harbor toward the boulevard, the Ramblas is the road, so to speak, comes inevitably All over the statue. The lower part is surrounded by benches, so you can sit down here, which I think is not so peacefull, because the statue is surrounded by traffic. On the base there are several figur...Read More

We landed about 20:20 clock in Barcelona at the airport and wanted to take the train to Calella but decided to take a cab. We went directly at the airport in the first car and drove up to Sans. The ride took about 15 minutes, so it was good to endure. Through the main entrance leads directly to the reception. In itself, the main entrance looks very tidy. The seats were quite sat through, but were comfortable. At the reception was already a very nice woman and was waiting for us ready, even if it was already very late. Well we got our room cards and there are two elevators. The room is quiet nice. Just to the right of the entrance door is the entrance door to the bathroom, stand stra...Read More

A few years ago I have lived in Barcelona for a half year and find it today still the most beautiful city I've visited. I’m definitely planning to go back there again. Las Ramblas in Barcelona is perhaps the most famous street in the city. I lived next to the street and have passed it many times, but have never understood why this street is so famous.Las RamblasLas Ramblas was formerly a dry riverbed that would ensure that the water, in heavy rains, would go from the mountains to the sea. Today it is a busy boulevard in the middle of town. It runs from the top of the Plaza Catalunya all the way down to the port. In the middle of the street you have a great boulevard that runs t...Read More

When I think of my favourite holiday I ever had I always have to think about my time in Barcelona. A wonderful beautiful young city that has everything for everyone. It has a lot of cultural, shops, restaurants and bars and of course the most important a beach. The city itself has a beach but when you take the train for five minutes you almost have a complete sand beach for yourself. When I was in Barcelona we have stayed at the three star hotel called ‘The B-hotel’.The location of the hotelThe B-hotel has three stars but it should have more in my opinion. Unfortunately it doesn’t have enough facilities to earn those four stars but it doesn’t say anything about the service, the...Read More
