Attraction | "The Caves of Nottingham"

Quote:
Something that quite a few people have told me to do while still in Nottingham is visit the caves. I have known about this attraction since I first moved here but could never really be bothered to go. What I found extremely strange about this attraction was that the entrance is on the upper floor of the Broadmarsh Shopping Center. I thought it was a very strange place for an attraction to be but then after thinking about it more, caves are bound to be under something. In order to get to the attraction, you can either drive and park in one of the nearby car parks but if you live in Nottingham, bus is probably the easiest way. Being in the city center, most buses will take you to within walk...Read More

Attraction | "The life and times of prisoners in Nottingham"

Until recently, I hadn’t really done much in Nottingham apart from going to pubs or eating out. I figured that considering it is my last year at university here, I should probably get some things done as I might not ever come back. One thing on my list was the Galleries of Justice, which I had heard was very popular. The Galleries of Justice is situated in the Lace Market area of Nottingham city center which is easily accessible by bus, car or tram. There is parking quite close so if you are driving it will only be a short walk away from your car. Before visiting an attraction like this, I always want to find out the prices. You can go to http://www.galleriesofjustice.org.uk/ to find out e...Read More

Attraction | "Not just for rockers"

Being a student in Nottingham means going out to quite a few different bars and clubs. One which has been a favourite over the past two years is Rock City. The club is situated on Talbot Street, which is only a 5 minute walk at most from the city center. This means that you can go elsewhere beforehand if you want to or straight there if you go out late. This year I live pretty much in the city center so Rock City is now within walking distance for me. Rock City is not only a club, it also has gig nights which have had some quite famous names play there in the past. Over the next couple of months, Adam Ant, Rizzle Kicks, Ellie Goulding and Dappy are all playing there. Although the club is c...Read More

Restaurant | "Fabulous food!"

Whenever my flatmate and I go out for lunch or dinner, we always tend to go to the same places in Nottingham because we know we really like them and we know we’re getting good value for money. However, I was feeling like trying somewhere else not long ago and having never been to a T.G.I. Friday’s, we decided to go there. T.G.I. Friday’s is located at the Cornerhouse in Nottingham, which is in the city center. The Cornerhouse is a multitude of restaurants and entertainment businesses like a cinema and casino, which aims to give near enough everything in one place so that people don’t have to go far for a good day or night out. As this restaurant is in the city center, it is easily accessi...Read More

Restaurant | "My first trip to Frankie and Benny's"

Quote:
On our last meal out of the university year, my flat mate and I went to Frankie and Benny’s. My hometown of Grimsby doesn’t have a branch and even though I have lived in Nottingham for 2 years, I had never been. My flat mate decided that this had to be changed. As we went to eat before going to the cinema, we chose from the lunch menu. As we entered the restaurant and stood waiting to be seated, I noticed that the restaurant was quite quiet. Even so, it took quite a while for someone to come and seat us which I didn’t think was very good. Once we were finally seated, our drinks order was taken which was brought over within a couple of minutes. As we were sat sipping our cokes and looking o...Read More
