On our recent holiday to Costa Dorada in Spain my fiancé and I decided to that we wanted to visit the nearby architectural town of Tarragona, unfortunately it was a very cold and rainy day. By bus, Tarragona takes approximately thirty five minutes to get to from Salou, where we were staying and the bus arrives at Tarragona bus station which means it is obvious where you need to get off of the bus. Busses run every half an hour from the seafront but we found that they often come at more regular intervals than the bus timetable states. The buses in Salou are run by the Plana Company and are all very comfortable and have seat belts for you to wear for extra safety. The buses do not all have access for wh...Read More

Whilst on holiday in Salou my fiancé realised that Barcelona football club would be playing Getafé at the Nou Camp in Barcelona. After looking around we saw that our local tourist office (the Plana Company) were selling tickets for the match. Tickets were priced between €96 per adult, for a category three ticket, to €192, a VIP ticket. VIP tickets included an invitation to the press room after the game as well as an in game buffet service. All tickets included a coach ride both to and from the stadium as well as a tour guide. Child tickets were also on sale for around €20 cheaper for each category, child ages constituted between three and seven years old. The coach journey was very important travellin...Read More

During our holiday to Salou we decided to visit the world famous city of Barcelona on a day trip. We got tickets from the local bus company Plana for €19 per person for a return ticket. This wasn't too bad a price as the bus was very comfortable but does not have toilets! I know that you can also get a train to Barcelona but I didn’t want to do the journey without looking it up first so decided to take the bus instead. The journey from Salou takes around 1 hour and a half depending on traffic which can become very busy during peak times. The bus times need to be checked as they are not that regular especially at night and stop after a certain time. When we arrived in Barcelona we were over...Read More

When in Spain recently the entertainers at our hotel advised us that we should visit the travelling market as it sells lots of cheap items from food to clothes and is a great trip for the whole family. This is a great place to visit if you have forgotten anything for you holiday or want to buy some cheap clothing. I had forgotten to take a purse with me on holiday and found a great leather purse for €3 and also ended up buying a beautiful wrap to go over my bikini also for €3. There are also lots of stalls that sell typical Spanish items such as paella dishes and Spanish fans. These would be good souvenirs for friends and family. The market travels around Costa Daurada and stop...Read More

PortAventura Theme Park Photo, Salou, Spain

When staying in Salou, Spain, my fiancé and I decided that we would like to go to the famous Port Aventura park which was only a short walk away from our hotel. Port Aventura is essentially a very huge theme park with a magnitude of things to do and see. I call it a theme park however do not think that this justifiable as it is so much more. The park is very easy to get to from Salou with regular bus services, tourist trains or by walking there (the route is very simple and mostly flat). The park is quite expensive at €44 per adult (this was the price when we went in April, I would check the summer prices as these may be more) but there is a great deal where you can purchase a ...Read More
