During our holiday to Salou we decided to visit the world famous city of Barcelona on a day trip. We got tickets from the local bus company Plana for €19 per person for a return ticket. This wasn't too bad a price as the bus was very comfortable but does not have toilets! I know that you can also get a train to Barcelona but I didn’t want to do the journey without looking it up first so decided to take the bus instead. The journey from Salou takes around 1 hour and a half depending on traffic which can become very busy during peak times. The bus times need to be checked as they are not that regular especially at night and stop after a certain time. When we arrived in Barcelona we were over...Read More

When looking for a place to go on holiday over the Easter half term I looked at many different countries and decided that I would like to return to Spain as I hadn't been there since I was a little girl. I remembered a great holiday that I had with my family to Salou in the Costa Dorada so wanted to go again. From London Stansted to Barcelona the flight took about 2 hours 40 minutes which isn’t too long. Many of the planes fly to either Barcelona or Reus airport, I believe there used to be a closer airport to Salou but this got closed down so now you have to travel further once you reach Spain! Salou is about a one and a half hours drive from Barcelona airport. There are many transfer compa...Read More

When on holiday in Salou over the Easter half term we found that some of the local attractions were closed due to the time of year. whilst looking in the tourist information office I saw that Aquopolis was showing daily dolphin and sea-lion show even though the water park was closed. The dolphin show cost €7 per adult for a 40 minute show. I thought that this was a real bargain for such an attraction and we jumped at the chance to see this show! The arena is extremely large with lots of seating, there were only around twenty people at the show when we went so we were all able to spread out and enjoy great views. The arena is under cover and during this April day got quite cold so...Read More

Hotel | "A great place to stay in Salou"

I decided that me and my fiancé needed a holiday during the Easter half term after both working hard since the start of the school term in September. I looked on many websites to find a cheap holiday and found The Hotel Belvedere for the steal of a price at £336 for two adults for eleven nights. I read some really great reviews about the hotel as well as a few bad ones but thought what the hell and gave it a go.The Belvedere Hotel is a three star hotel located about five minutes away from Salou's main beach. The walk to the beach is very easy as Salou is very flat. The hotel is set over two buildings joined in the middle by a connecting hallway. There is a lift for each building which is ...Read More
