Every time my boyfriend and I go out to eat, we always end up having to wait for a table. It doesn’t seem to matter where we go and lunch at Nandos in Norwich was no exception. We chose to have lunch quite early as we knew that we were going for an all you can eat Chinese later on that evening so we got to Nandos at just before noon. The restaurant was packed. The whole seating area was looking pretty full as we walked in and there were already a bunch of people waiting to be seated before us. Still, the waitress told us that it would only be a 10 minute wait and she took our names, gave us some menus and showed us to a seat for while we waited. The people waiting before us got tables real...Read More

Restaurant | "All you can eat in Norwich"

During my weekend in Norwich, my boyfriend and I met up with two friends who live in Cromer. They came to stay at the apartment with us on the Saturday night and we all went out for an all you can eat Chinese meal at the Riverbank Chinese Buffet Restaurant. The restaurant is only around the corner from Norwich train station, a 5 minute walk maximum and it is also right near a strip of clubs/ bars. As we went on Saturday night, I thought that this would make it really loud and annoying outside but I didn’t experience this at all. As we got to the restaurant, we told a member of staff of our reservations and we were led to the till to pay for our meals which we obviously hadn’t eaten at this...Read More

Hollywood Bowl Norwich

Attraction | "Not a great experience"

Quote:
On a weekend visiting my boyfriend in Norwich, we found ourselves with loads of free time on the Sunday before my train and not much to do. After having lunch at Wetherspoons, we decided to have a couple of games of bowling at Hollywood Bowl due to it just being across the way. I had never been to a Hollywood Bowl before but as we got there and asked for a lane, I decided I was glad for this. For 2 games each at around 1pm, it cost nearly £20. The bowling alley I have been to in Nottingham costs around £15 for us both for 3 games on a Saturday night. Hollywood Bowl does have offers on for different days and times but unfortunately there was none for a Sunday afternoon for us. I don’t know ...Read More

Hotel | "Cheap place to stay in Norwich"

Quote:
When looking at where to stay in Norwich for a weekend with my boyfriend, I had no real idea of where to stay. Luckily, our friend who lives in Cromer told me about MJB apartments which she had used before and they were a hell of a lot cheaper than any hotel I could find. There are quite a few different apartments from MJB around Norwich and the one we stayed at was 95D Upper St Giles Street. The apartment we stayed in had 2 double bedrooms and cost £35 in total per night booking through laterooms.com. 95D is situated only a 5 minute walk from the market place in the city centre or a 20 minute walk from the train station. The apartment is easy enough to find if you know Norwich quite well ...Read More

Pizza Hut

Restaurant | "A take out experience"

Quote:
As I was quite unwell on my first night staying in Norwich, my boyfriend and I decided to go and pick up some food from Pizza Hut, about a 15 minute walk away from the apartment we were staying in. On arrival, we didn’t really know what we wanted so we explained to a staff member that we wanted take out and he gave us a menu and a seat while we waited and decided. We didn’t get seen to again for another 15 minutes but the restaurant itself was pretty busy as it was around 8pm on a Friday night. Here, I should tell you that the take away menu is slightly different than the normal menu. A member of staff finally came over to take our order but before he did, he explained that he didn’t reall...Read More
