Confession time: I didn't stay overnight because it costs close to $20,000 a day! Probably more now. But the meals are included! Along with a staff of more than 20. As is everything else you'd want. I just thought it was my duty to tell you everything about this place (believe me, I tried to beg a night, but got laughed off the island). Necker Island Beach Bummin'

Heaven on earth. This must be what celebrities crave just to get away from people like me. I'm kidding. Really, as a New Yorker, I didn't bat an eye when a couple of months ago I saw Woody and Soon-Yi with baby in a stroller, crossing a street next to me on the Upper East Side. However, my niece Sherree had palpitations for two weeks. But she's from Philadelphia, where the biggest celebrity is the guy who makes cheese whiz. Necker Island is the place I dream about, and it's gratifying to know someone can actually enjoy its beauty. (I just hope they tip the landscapers REAL good).

What more can be said about an island that is so out there, so perfect, so unaffordable...
If I could afford an island retreat like this, I would bring my nuclear family and just Zen out for a month, write my book already and soak up all the native colors, wear silky sarong, loose clothes and lounge alot. (Maybe there's a discount during hurricane season...) That's what MY dreams are made of, anyway, but if you can possibly arrange a tour, do so, you will enjoy every moment.
