This is a fun place to hang out, just to people watch. It's an all-incusive yacht club and guests can stay in hillside or beachfront villas if you care to stay overnight. Or just come for a meal and be on the look-out for the likes of Mel Gibson (who I missed by a day) and John Travolta, who had also recently been through. It's a magnet for testosterone-fueled yachtsmen who come for boat races and talk about riggings and stuff. I came for the food, which was ess interesting than the people floating around.

Pusser's Leverick Bay

It's part of a chain, which should tell you alot about the food quality, but it's a fun hang-out and Friday is all-you-can-eat Cajun shrimp night. It's like a stateside Friday's or Bennigan's: you come for a good time, not to over-analyze each entree. The desserts are great, try the mud pie or if you're daring, the Mud Head, made with the 'world famous' Pusser's rum. There are souvenir shops to check out on the boardwalk locale, too.

This is a unique island in that it has multiple personalities (like me). There's a beautiful, ritzy resort for the rich folk, and then you have wonderful natural beauty to fall in love with. The boulders are amazing, the walking trails can be a challenge, and the beaches are fine. This is a beautiful, unusual destination that offers family fare as well as romantic possibilities.
