China has a surface of 10million km2.So talking about culture/food/climate and politics is always difficult.Anyhow this country opened his boarders during the ninetees for the touristic world-remains mysterious but we can follow the footsteps of Marco Polo. From the Ming-Dynasty to Mao-from the Great Wall to Hongkong - just go for it !!

"Bejing", capital of China is a city full of mystery and culture.

Highlights: "The Great Wall" - "Forbidden City" - "The Secret Gardens".

I had my first contact with local Chinese people and it left the impression that the land is not completly free of the Communist Regime.

This impression will change if you travel to the South.

Hong Kong - actually part of China - is the financial key of Asia. You can visit different small islands.(Kowloon-Lantau-Macao) In fact, it will remain a western transit area to visit Asia. Not only for tourist but certainly for the business.Import taxes are rather low and via a chinese "partnership" it is possible to trade western goods. The Harbour activities are worthwhile to visit. Rent a boat and do a tour.(Aberdeen area. You will notice many boat living people (a lot of fugitives)doing their daily job.Highlights are several floating restaurants you have to visit early evening. Victoria peak (554m)is also a topic.Use the "Peak tram" to go up and you will enjoy a unique panoramic vieuw over H...Read More

Shanghai by Night Photo - China, Asia
Quote:
Shanghai became the status of "world city" thanks to the exploration of western industrials and local Chinese merchants. The most attractive place for a tourist is the old part of the city. You will find the most famous "Huxinthng Teahouse" in the middle of a lake and many fountains. It is also the heart of commerce and typical restaurants.

You will meet also the old fashion of buildings - now object of urban renewal. Anyhow if you visit China - this City is a must. Please visit the night markets - social life in China - in Asia überhaupt is during the nights.
