Ayr Seafront Playpark

Attraction | "Fun For All Ages "

There is a huge play park which is located on the sea front in Ayr. It is around a 15minute walk from the shopping area in Ayr and looks out over the water (and the beach). The park has been open for years and is an ideal place to relax whilst your children have some fun and tire themselves out. The park is enclosed with a fence and is split into various sections depending on the age group of the children visiting. There is a stair area for relaxing with some food or ice cream. There is an ice cream van selling various cones and treats just outside the park and fish and chip shops are located nearby. You could also take a picnic. There is a huge grassy area next to the park and ...Read More

Golden Disc Amusements is an arcade in Ayr. It is a 5 minute walk from the sea front which is home to the beach and huge play park. The arcade is located on a side street just off Wellington Square and next door to a chip shop. There is something to suit all ages in Golden Disc. The arcade is well presented and offers a host of flashing lights and amusement style noises to tempt you in. It isn't as buzzing as the arcades in Blackpool though as is a bit more subtle. It is clean and tidy but the toilets aren't amazing as there is never any soap. The arcade can be accessed through 2 entrances. One entrance leads you to the snack counter and a few table booths. You can buy chips, hot...Read More

Wellington Fish & Chips

Restaurant | "Tasty Food To Take Away Or Sit In"

The Wellington is a fish and chip restaurant and take away just 250 yards from the sea front in Ayr. (t has been open since 1968 and is a family run establishment. The eat in area allows seating for up to 50 people in the form of booth tables. There is a table service and you are given a fairly extensive menu of meals and snacks to choose from. The dining area is very compact and there isn't enough room to manouver a pram or wheelchair let alone have space for a high chair. The restaurant is clean and tidy and the waitress was friendly each time we have dined here. The take away area is seperated from the main dining area and is simply a glossy black counter and tiled waiting are...Read More

Ayr is a coastal town in Scotland. It has a huge beach which runs from the River Doon to the River Ayr. The beach is around a 15minute walk from the shopping area of Ayr. Local attractions include various fish and chip shops, a huge play park and sports centre. We visit Ayr twice a year and usually once during the Summer if there is ever a sunny day in Scotland! The beach is a great length and runs from the harbour all the way along the coastline. If it isn't a pleasant day we often walk along the promenade which gives amazing reviews over the water without getting sand in your shoes! It is a scenic walk which is very relaxing and normally quiet as the road rarely seems busy.The...Read More

Wellington Square

Attraction | "A Beautiful Square Close To The Beach"

Quote:
Wellington Square is located in the town of Ayr. Approx a 10minute walk from the shops or 10minute walk in the opposite direction to the beach, the square is in the heart of the town.Wellington Square is enclosed by low set hedges. It is referred to as being a public garden and has a few different entrance gates on either end. To the far end of the square, there is a huge council building which I believe is also a court house. There are various solicitors, beauty companies and other businesses within the surrounding house-like buildings. The square itself features a few monuments including a war memorial. There is also a statueof the 13th Earl of Eglington. The square features a...Read More
