Coral Island is just one of the amusement arcades on Blackpools promenade. Coral Island is situated on the promenade between the North and Central Pier. It is a short distance from attractions such as the Blackpool Tower, Louis Tussauds and the Sea Life Centre. It is also nearby the main shopping area. The arcade can be accessed through many entrances with the main entrance being just off the promenade and featuring a huge skull design. I cannot locate the opening times though I do believe Coral Island is opened til around 11ish at night and is open 7days a week. The main focus is on amusements within this arcade. There is something for every age and budget. ...Read More

Robert Ripley was born in 1890 in California. He was a cartoonist, a collector, an explorer and came up with the statment "Believe It Or Not". He was obsessed with the weird and wonderful things in life that are rarely explained. Now, his works are featured in museums and attractions around the world. My review discusses the Ripley's Believe It Or Not in Blackpool, Lancashire. The Blackpool museum is located a short walk from the entrance to the Pleasure Beach and is nearby the South Pier and Sandcastle. It is serviced by regular buses and the famouse Blackpool trams pass by it. It is hidden within a row of shops and restaurants and overlooks the beach as well as being overshadowed by the B...Read More

Attraction | "Still My Favourite Pier"

Blackpool Central Pier Photo, Blackpool, England

Central Pier opened in 1864 and is 340m in length. It stands in a prime location between North and South Pier and a short walk from the Blackpool Tower. It is just off the promenade the beach is underneath the pier. The pier itself was constructed using wooden decking with an iron railing and seating area running around the outside of the pier. Sitting proudly at 32m high is the Big Wheel. Built in 1990, the wheel gives you the opportunity to hop on board a carriage and be greeted with views over the Irish Sea and promenade. This experience will cost you a few pounds. There are other traditional rides on the pier including the waltzers and helter skelter costing a few pounds each....Read More

The Grill Restaurant is located in the Casino building at the entrance to Blackpool Pleasure Beach. It is a brasserie style restaurant which offers a varied menu including lunch, afternoon tea and dinner dishes. The restaurant is set across 3 levels. The ground floor level features an array of seating options. There are a few steps up to another seating area next to the bar. A set of stairs will take you up to the 1st floor where more seating is provided and overlooks the downstairs seating area. The restaurant is clean and fresh in appearance with whitewashed walls and large windows looking out onto the promenade and letting in lots of natural lighting.
