Grimsby

Even though I have lived all over the place the past few years, Grimsby is my home town. It is where I was born and raised. That doesn't mean I have to like that though. Grimsby is a fishing town on the east coast and was formerly known as Great Grimsby. The town has a population of around 90,000 and boarders the seaside town of Cleethorpes. Being a fishing town, this brings in a lot of jobs due to the amount of businesses that have something to do with the food industry, factories being a major source of jobs. A few years ago, Youngs named Grimsby its source for fish and even used pictures of the docks in their TV adverts. Not many people I have told this is where I am from know where it ...Read More

Cleethorpes

Story/Tip

Quote:
Cleethorpes is the neighbouring town to my home town of Grimsby. Due to them being so close, many people class them as the same place. The town has a population of just over 30,000 and it is twinned with the town of Königswinter in Germany. A popular term used to describe going to Cleethorpes by locals is calling it 'Meggies'. I have no idea what people call it this and I doubt I will ever find out. Cleethorpes is actually a seaside town and from Grimsby, it takes about 30 minutes on a bus to get there or about 10 if you take the train. All of the buses, and the train, go pretty much straight to the beach or a 2 minute walk away from it. The beach itself runs for miles and it can take you ...Read More

Although I am not originally from Nottingham, this is now where I live because of university. I chose to come here partly for my course and partly because I knew there was a lot to do in the city. I couldn't think of much worse than being stuck living somewhere that you don't like or somewhere that you can't have much fun. This review will be about some of the things I love to do and see in Nottingham – some of the appealing aspects of the city. I love photography and even though it is only a hobby, this city is a photographer's paradise. Having gone on some quite random bus journeys to get to places, I have found some fantastic places. My favourite is definitely Colwick Country Park, whic...Read More

Sometimes I absolutely love London, and sometimes i cant even stand being there. I don’t live there but I do like to go at least once a year. People's thoughts about the capital will all depend on when they go and what they do while they’re there. Last time I went was 2 days after Christmas and I can safely say I will never go there again during the sales!! I was meeting a friend from Canada and a friend from France at the time so I can’t complain about the company at all. Neither of them had been to London before so it was all down to me to entertain them and do the tourist stuff with them. (Not that I complained at the time). I haven’t even done all the tourist things myself but I showed...Read More

stirling

My best friend, Ryan, lives in Menstrie which is not that far from Stirling and every year, I go up to stay with him at least once. As Menstrie is a small village, we don't spend much time there and instead venture into Stirling to do things. The first time I went up to see Ryan, I wasn't quite sure what to expect as I didn't really know what size the city was or what there would be to do there. Luckily, I was shown that there is a lot to do even though it isn't massive. The first thing most girls want to know about when visiting somewhere new is the shopping. Stirling has a pretty decent shopping centre which is situated less than 5 minutes away from the train station and access right nex...Read More
