Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is held on selected nights from September to the end of October at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. This is a separate ticketed event which means that even if you have a park entry ticket for the day you will need to leave the park by 7pm and will only be allowed to stay if you have purchased the extra ticket. If you don’t have a normal park ticket for that day you are usually allowed park entry from about 4.30 with your Halloween ticket. On arrival you are issued with a coloured wristband to prove that you are a party guest, if you are already in the park you get one of these wristbands by showing your party ticket to a cast member at the Stitch a...Read More

Walt Disney World in Florida covers a huge area and Disney run various transport options for getting between the Parks and the Resort Hotels. The most recognisable and novel way to travel around the resort is by using the Monorail system. The Monorail was built as part of the original plan for Disney World and opened in 1971. About 10 years later an extension was made to add Epcot onto the system. All visitors to WDW are entitled to free transportation on the Monorail system, no tickets are required. There are a total of 12 six-carriage monorail trains in use which all have a different coloured stripe along their side which is how they are identified throughout the n...Read More

Bay Lake Tower at Disneys Contemporary Resort is actually part of the Disney Vacation Club which is the company’s time-share scheme however a certain number of each room type are also available as part of the ordinary Contemporary Resort inventory. The rooms range from the Studios which have a double-bed, a sofa-bed and a kitchenette, through one and two-bedroom units to the two-storey Grand-villas which can sleep up to 12 people. We stayed in a One-bed roomed Villa.Finding Bay Lake Tower is easy as it is part of the Magic Kingdom resort. Bay lake Tower itself does not have its own reception so we had to park the car outside the main Contemporary hotel to check-in.When we arrived ...Read More

‘Ohanas is one of the restaurants found at the Polynesian Resort at Walt Disney World, Orlando. The word ‘Ohana means family in Polynesian and the restaurants is designed to offer a welcoming family-feel to its diners. We had booked a Character Breakfast at ‘Ohanas having read good reviews about it. Bookings can be made 180 days before the required date either online or by phoning direct. Stand-by entrance is very rare for the Character Breakfast so pre-booking is pretty much essential. Our booking was for 8.00am so we used the monorail which stops at the hotel and arrived exactly on time. When we arrived we easily followed the signs to the restaurant and check-in at the desk....Read More

Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake

Attraction | "A Bit of Extra Magic!"

Quote:
The Electric Water Pageant is a nice little treat that many visitors to Walt Disney World miss. Every night the Pageant floats across Seven Seas Lagoon in front of Magic Kingdom and makes its way to Bay Lake. The Pageant consists of floating barges illuminated with changing light displays that alternate as it floats across the lakes accompanied by a rather irritating jingly musical score. One minute the pageant looks like the Loch Ness Monster surrounded by sea creatures and the next it is a series of Stars and Stripes flags. This is a very pretty, effective light display so it is worth making the effort to catch it.The Pageant begins at about 9.00pm and can be seen from th...Read More
