There is so much to do in this area for every kind of person . . .*Beaches* Sunbathing is probably the top of most people’s agenda when visiting Palma Nova and Magaluff and you won’t be disappointed because there are plenty of nice beaches to choose from. Each of them is sandy and the sea is crystal clear. They all have sun beds and parasols for hire, but are also lined with shops where you can buy your own lilos and parasols for a fairly cheap price. There are plenty of water sports to take part in as well, including hiring jet skis and pedalos or riding on a banana boat. The beaches are clean and safe; they are constantly patrolled by various beach personnel. *Nightlife* Maga...Read More

Restaurant | "Nice Restaurant, Awful Service"

We went to La Cucaracha on the third night of our recent holiday and were really looking forward to it because from the outside, the restaurant looked nice and the menu was pretty good. For the most part it was good, but the service from the waitress really let the whole thing down. The restaurant is on the main promenade in Palma Nova, about halfway along. It is an open fronted restaurant, with a few tables inside and a large patio at the front where most of the dining tables were as well as a few lounge chairs for having a drink whilst you wait for your table. The front is adorned with two oversized plastic cacti which hold the menus and are surrounded by large bushes to separate the dini...Read More

Finding Spanish food in Magaluf and Palma Nova is surprisingly difficult. Thanks mainly to the massive tourist industry here, the choice of food seems to be heavily in favour of every nationality other than Spanish. It was on discovering this that we pretty much gave up on having anything Spanish and decided to have a look at what else was on offer, hence ending up in an Indian restaurant.Walking up the hill to Torrenova, we smelt Poonam before we saw it and to be honest I was sold on the smell alone. It smelt wonderful, the spices just drew us in. We stopped outside long enough to have a look at the menu and then entered the restaurant. Most of the restaurant is in fact outside on the ver...Read More

Attraction | "Sun, Sea and Sand!"

Whenever I go on a beach holiday, I much prefer to go to the actual beach rather than sunbathing by the hotel pool and our recent trip to Palma Nova was no exception. There are lots of lovely sandy beaches in the area and you are never far away from one, but the one that we chose to visit was the Playa Palma Nova. The first thing to note is that the beach is made up of fine, very light yellow sand, rather than shale or stones. It looks lovely and feels very nice under foot, except for when it is too hot to walk on of course! The beach is a good size, stretching for almost a mile in a curved shape. It makes for a nice length for doing a gentle stroll along the sea. In fact this activity seem...Read More

Hotel | "Perfectly Adequate Hotel, Great Location"

We picked the Don Bigote Hotel in Palma Nova because we wanted somewhere cheap and cheerful to stay for a few days in September and we certainly got that. The Don Bigote is never going to win any awards for luxury, but it certainly offers comfort and a good location, for an excellent price.Getting to the hotel from the airport in Palma is easiest by taxi. It'll set you back around 35 Euros, but the taxi drivers are all familiar with the area and it's a fairly short 20 minute drive - although it can be a white knuckle ride, depending on the taxi driver! The hotel is located on C/ Paris, which is just a 40 metre walk from Palma Nova's main beach and a stone's throw from plenty of restaurant...Read More
