Club Catwalk

Best Of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Large and full of pretentious people "

Quote:
Club Catwalk is a nightclub that is located in the port Olympic area of the city close to Shoko and Carpe Deim right by the beach. It is easy to find and can usually be identified by the line of people who are trying to gain entry after about 1 am. The nearest metro is villa olympico and the club is a couple of minutes’ walk from the exit of the metro station. Catwalk is a large club and is very popular with the cities fashionable crowd although it is also extremely popular with tourists as well due to its location. Whether or not you will like Catwalk really does depend on what sort of place you are looking for. It isn’t the type of place where you go to relax and lounge about...Read More

Jamboree

Best Of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Great atmosphere and brilliant music"

Quote:
Jamboree is a little bit different from the kind of places that I normally find myself going to but it has one of the best atmospheres of any club in Barcelona. It is located in Placa Reial just off Las Ramblas and costs to enter vary depending on what live act is playing that night. Whatever the price the night you go there is always someone handing out flyers on Las Ramblas that give discounts and if you get there early enough there you can get free entry a lot of the time. Inside the club is quite small with two floors one upstairs and one located in the basement. There is a lounge area but this is the sort of club that you visit to enjoy the live acts and get up and dance too. Th...Read More

La Champagneria

Best Of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "Amazing bar with cheap food and drink "

Quote:
La Xampanyeria (in the local Catalan but La Champagneria in Spanish) is one of the best and weirdest bars that I have ever been too. First of all finding the bar was a complete and utter nightmare as it is a little off the beaten path. It is located near the beach on Carrer de la Reina but knowing this information doesn’t make it any easier to find. It is on a side street and a good deal of walking was involved before we stumbled across it. Once you find the actual side street it is on you can’t miss the bar unless it’s closed in which case it just looks like an abandoned building with shuttering over the door. When the bar is open you would need to be both blind and deaf to actually miss ...Read More

Shoko Beach Front Restaurant

Best Of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "A night with the beautiful people "

Quote:
Shoko is the place the beautiful people go to be see and be seen in Barcelona and one of my favourite places in the city. It is situated on Paseo Maritimo in Villa Olympica alongside some other trendy bars and restaurants. This is probably more a tourist area than any other in the city due to it's location by the beach and the prices at Shoko reflect that because it is not cheap. It is actually a restaurant/bar/club hybrid and during the day and early evening it is mainly somewhere to come and eat before turning into a lounge bar and then a late night disco. It is a supposed to be a fusion of western and eastern and this is reflected in the decor. It is extremely trendy and imp...Read More

CDLC (Carpe Diem Lounge Club)

Best Of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Pretentious but oh so stylish "

Quote:
CDLC or Carpe Diem lounge club as it is more commonly known is another of those lounge/restaurant/nightclub hybrids that are becoming more and more popular. It is located in the tourist hotspot of Villa Olympica in Barcelona directly next to the beach and other popular night spots such as Shoko and Catwalk. There are now a few of these uber trendy clubs and bars along this strip that mainly cater to the tourists and the rich and hip of Barcelona such as the footballers of F.C Barcelona who are known to hang out here. The nearest metro station is Ciutadella Villa Olympica and Carpe Diem is only a short walk from it. There is absolutely no chance of getting lost as you leave the metro ...Read More
